Pretty much, there aren't many IC rules for RaS. It's basic. If you harm or kill another member of RaS without a good reason (proof needed) then you will suffer consequences from imprisonment, banishment, even death at the hands of Emmarie herself. We do live in the land of Eldon Heath, upon the planet of Spirydon, but RaS is a group that exists in this land, Emmarie is not a Queen, Chancellor, or any type ruler of the kingdom where RaS is located. The leadership of the kingdoms are NPC's played by certain muns when needed.
There are rules in many of the towns and kingdoms your characters go into and if you break them, there are consequences. But, if you want to drink all night and destroy the inn, you'll face consequences such as being tossed in prison or made to pay damages. If you get mad and punch someone you may get your nose bashed in. Got questions, ask.
One rule I will state right off is that if you are a member of RaS and you rape a member of RaS or attempt rape, your character will be castrated at the very least, castrated and banished at the most. Even if the mun agrees, but then reports it with proof, you will face the wrath of Emma. Emmarie will do it herself if she needs to. With a horse castration tool.
OOC RULES-
a. Every member has a right to any profession or race as long as it fits into the storyline and is logical. This is a fantasy medieval setting, remember. Use logic, I reserve the right to deny races that I just don't think logically could exist. We do have some recognized races that gain skills & weaknesses, but we cannot cover everything.
b. All OOC issues are to be kept OOC. Crossing is not tolerated. There is nothing that kills a roleplay worse than mun drama feeding into how characters act. If you are so upset that it's bleeding into roleplay, take a break and walk away.
c. Please keep all OOC arguments in private. Use IM, or if you need someone to assist with arbitration, we will go in a PR.
d. Any member found sending emails or IMs which are mun-bashing will be removed from the SL immediately. We're all adults here, it shouldn't have to go down that road. Bash a character, that's fine, bash a mun, no.
e. Any character given to another mun to play is done at your risk. We understand that you might want a more full SL, and we welcome that with open arms. But once the character is theirs and they have been playing them, it is officially their character and no longer yours. If a fight breaks out between yourself and the other mun, we will do our best to help smooth things over, but we will not take the character back from them.
f. We are not here just to gain rank, dice and awards, we're here to build in-depth stories with our characters and to literally create a world where people fill in specific roles based on their personality. If you are seen to be merely trying to gain as much AP as possible, in sneaky ways (such as sparring your alt over and over) then we may ask you to leave, or dock you of AP or gold.
g. We are not out to build a massive roster with people that never play. Every so often we will purge our rosters of people that have not gained any AP or been seen for a while, and I'm not required to warn you if I do this. If you don't want to play with us, don't join, that's fine! We are not the type of group that just wants to have numbers, we want quality over quantity. THIS IS WHY WE ARE NOT ACTIVELY RECRUITING! If people see us roleplay and want information - then great! But spending time recruiting, trying to talk people into joining, being bored as hell - is not doing one damn thing for our story.
h. If you are the chat creator, we expect you to acknowledge everyone that roleplays an entrance into the room in some way, whether that be by a wave, a greeting, or even a nodding of the head. It is also your responsibility to let any new entrants know the setting of the room they have entered, by either emailed, IMing or posting in the chat a brief description of the chat room and setting.
i. We encourage all members to open chats with RaS at the beginning of the chat name, in order to show people that we are an active storyline. We also encourage all our members to interact and make new members to the storyline feel welcome. We do NOT want this to be filled with cliques and private circles, and if we see this is happening we will take action and remove you from the storyline. [Of course you may have your favorite group of rper's but this is so that you do not ignore other characters in public rooms.]
j. Though we do not have any intrinsic objection to multi-character SN's, we ask that you only join this storyline with one character per screen name. This does not mean you can't roleplay other characters for storylines or NPC's in our chats, but only one official character can be a member of RaS on that SN.
We actually welcome NPC's that add to the development of our storyline and you are welcome to list these on your profile if you wish as RaS NPC's.
h. Also we ask that if you are going to bring in an alt, that you plan on being at least a little active on that character. We don't need alts to fill our rosters with names. We want active players who want to develop characters and build stories together. We don't have a limit on alts, nor do we require you to tell us who your alts are, but we do ask for activity. We do NOT want a roster full of alts that barely are seen!
i. Let's be careful about what we do in public chats. You have a lot of free reign on what you do, but if things get too steamy move to a PR or IM. I don't ever want to hear of someone walking into a public RaS room and finding people having sex. Nudity, foul language, flirting, bloodshed, etc... ok, that's NC-17. But when you get into sexual acts go to PR or IM, or just be very very careful!!
j. We are not a modern setting. Please see our thread on this for options, but modern things such as cell phones, ipods, motorcycles and the like WILL NOT WORK HERE.
k. If your character dies you have a few options. See our thread on How Death Works.
l. And finally, if it's not listed on your character sheet thread before the adventure it DOES not exist for that adventure. I am mainly speaking of new skills and spells!
