Kingdom of Carmathyn
The Kingdom of Carmathyn is the largest, and most prosperous of all the kingdoms of Eldon Heath. Cair Rhyfellion is located within Carmathyn.
Carmathyn has a spine of mountains down it's center called the Mynid Mountains. Though the peaks of the Mynids have snow year round, the land on either side of the mountains has warm to hot summers and frigid winters south of Grinjallyn. Above Grinjallyn, the summers are milder and winters are even colder, always finding snow in winter and early spring months. The area of Ifori, due to the surrounding protective mountains, is mild to warm all year 'round and holds some of the most beautiful rolling vineyards in the land within that valley.
Gwendren
Gwendren is the capital city of Carmathyn. A city situated on the coast and at the mouth of several rivers.
Ivory Tower
The Ivory Tower is sacred to the Oratios of Eldon Heath and it is closely guarded. Only current oratios and the High Council may enter the tower, though all are welcome within the beautiful courtyard around the stark white building. The Ivory Tower happens to be the very center of the strings of time.
Copper Crown Inn
The Copper Crown Inn, while not the most luxurious inn within the capital city, is the most popular. Many bards got their start at the Copper Crown, and while it stays fairly low-key, offering everything from common room sleeping to a luxury suite, it still draws folks from everywhere so on festivals and holidays, if you didn't make a reservation you are usually out of luck. "Capten Faxon", a half water kh'ron, has owned the inn for many a year, and often regales those in the main room with stories of his life as sea captain. Oddly enough, there is no proof that Faxon was ever a sea captain but his stories are exciting nonetheless!
Balinsaeth
A moderately sized city about a half day's journey south of Gwendren. This is the city where the Cair Rhyfellion is located.
Pale Horse Inn
The main inn and tavern within Balinsaeth. The elderly innkeeper, Tallis Vallent is a jovial forest kh'ron. His elderly wife, Pleasance, a human, is a talented cook and well worth the trip just to eat a dinner there.
Grinjallyn
Named after an emerald lake, Grinjallyn is a sizable town in Carmathyn, and a popular location for vacations. The beaches of Lake Grinjallyn are pure white sand, and while the waters are tinted green they are crystalline clear. There are tunnels and caverns, many unexplored, beneath Lake Grinjallyn and there is a legend of a massive monster that lives in this lake, called affectionately "Grinja". Grinjallyn is a good day's journey from Balinsaeth.
