A few days have past and Coran's people have had no luck at all finding her or her twins and sister, all of whom are missing with her or somewhere close to her. The last time she was seen was at the Firestone fortress before she was blasted out of the wall and vanished into the wood. Her friend and most loyal
seekthefallen (8:02:23 PM): worker, Ferdinand, came to the land of Rhyfellion to recruit a few of its adventurers to go out and help them find Coran. He has offered a reward for finding her [ dead - 600gp, Alive 1000gp Fail to find her - 200gp. ] --
seekthefallen (8:04:22 PM): Ferdinand traveled between the realms many times, pasting fliers up every where he could within Rhyfellion for adventurers to join the King in his search for his wife, Coran would never let the old man live if he let John go out all by his little human self! Agnes Clayborn (8:06:49 PM): Agnes of course had seen the flyers as well as missing a friend was enough to enourage her arrival. The young lady greeted the elder man with a small nod of her head. As usual the pack slung over her shoulder while she wore the long gray skirts. As she always had before missions, she remained silent, merely waiting for instructions. <d

tempered winds (8:09:32 PM): The reward that was posted was mainly for the others who would be joining them. John obviously did not need the incentive in looking for his wife or children. With all his gear in check, and his weapons sheathed, he came out to join them after everyone else had arrived. It was hard to say what he had been doing prior to that. For obvious reasons, he was not his laid back self tonight. Though he looked quite serious, a nod was extended to both Agnes and Akito.

Knew her since her birth so tghe possibility of her being dead was almost too much to bare on the old man's heart. "I thought for sure our troops would find them ... by now. I fear they may have been traded into slavery somewhere... or worse." --
x Silver Heat x (8:13:15 PM): Moving over toward John a hand clapped him on the back once, a subdued but understanding greeting coming from someone like him. As the old man greeted them he turned to listen to what he had to say.
seekthefallen (8:14:19 PM): The old man's body shuttered at the thought before he shook it off, water glistening in his eyes. "I want you to find her. I need you to." He turned on his heel as a tear escaped and he moved to the small boot. "I couldn't rally up the carriage, so we have to resort to the tattered boot again. Please, remember to touch it at the same time, or you won't all get there." He nodded to them, placing the boot down before them.

He held up a hand to stop Ferdinand from saying anymore. Whether to continue giving himself the hope that was needed, or otherwise. "We'll find them." Was all he said before he waited for the others to grab the boot, and timed it so that they would all go together.

seekthefallen (8:35:29 PM): They all had the eyes to spot what looked like drag marks left in the dirt. They were days old, but they remained even so. Would they follow that path, or head down the path in wich they'd spot foot prints, well, partial prints. [ that's cool, just came up with the idea, sorry lol. ]

Agnes Clayborn (8:38:33 PM): Agnes turned and looked at them as she looked off further down the path. " then it seems we have our path marked. "She stated quietly as she shifted the pack on her shoulder and gave a nod to the two men. <d
x Silver Heat x (8:39:21 PM): Akito followed soon enough as he saw footprints in the dirt. "There are two paths ahead. The scratch marks look fresher to me." Than the partial prints which could have been made by the search party.

Agnes Clayborn (8:44:44 PM): She hadn't a scrying spell else.. it would help them out a great deal. It was however at that point she put it into her mind that she would indeed study next. <d

seekthefallen (8:53:59 PM): They would slowly follow the path of drag marks deeper into the forest, hoping they would lead them to where they wanted to be. They walked until they reached a clearing that looked like it had been raided a few day past. There were two dead fellows on the ground, seemed to be elementals. One Earth [from the brown, rusty texture of his skin] and the other, fire [fire the bright orange red tone of his flesh.] Both had large, deep wounds in their midsections [what looked like axe wounds.] One had a very beautiful brooch on that seemed to attrack every member of the party to that dead body, in a bad way. The other, the earth elemental had a beautiful ring on his finger. The Earth elemental also held a wand in his hand. [If looted, I will explain all loot.]

Agnes Clayborn (8:58:08 PM): She walked with the men and canted her head at the sight of the elementals. She lifted a brow as she felt that unusual tug toward them." It seems that some have come this way.. was it not the elementals that were at war with Coran? "She asked quietly to John. She looked at the ring as she crouched down to study it. <d
tempered winds (8:59:58 PM): John followed the path like a bloodhound, eager to get to the end of it, or at least come across something that might give them the clues they needed. Upon arriving at the clearing, he noted the dead bodies. Cautiously, he approached them. The brooch did in fact draw him to that particular body, though he refrained from touching anything. The axe wounds were noted as well, before he moved to the other body. Agnes words drew his attention and he gave a tilt of his head. "No, I don't think so. Coran is an Elemental herself."
Agnes Clayborn (9:01:34 PM): "Then are these creatures hers? "She asked as she looked up at him. She shifted and drew a kerchief and began to work the ring from the creatures finger. It was better it was in their hands instead of an innocent bystander that happened come across it. <d

Agnes Clayborn (9:04:15 PM): She however offered it to the kerchief and ring to John. He was the leader of this expedition.. they could divide whatever up later. The important thing was to get Coran and the children home safely. <d
tempered winds (9:06:01 PM): "I can't say for sure, but I'm more interested in what caused these wounds on the Elementals. Maybe...it's connected somehow." He glanced down at the kerchief and ring when Agnes held it out to him. It was pocketed for now, and he nodded. Then he looked for anymore marks or footprints that lead away from the bodies.

Agnes Clayborn (9:09:06 PM): She smiled at Akito. " It is best that one carried such things that way in the end , we can figure out what it all does. " She stepped back away from teh elementals " The wounds are fairly obvious. "She stated and retrieved teh wand as well. The dark eyes looked over the area, searching out the patterns of steps and so forth. <d

tempered winds (9:11:20 PM): John didn't know that he had volunteered to carry all the loot during their travel, but it was going to end up weighing him down if they continued to pick things up along the way. "Why not just hide everything somewhere. We can come back for it. I don't wanna carry so many things with me. Besides, there's still a wand too."

seekthefallen (9:12:53 PM): The path before them was the one tracked in large, bloody foot prints, and more drag marks. After checking out the scene with the dead men, tghey would move forward, deeper into the forest.

Agnes Clayborn (9:14:19 PM): It wasn't meant to weigh him down perhaps it seemed that way. She gave a small nod. " I was more concerned of someone locating it later. "She spoke up softly. She looked to teh others. <d
x Silver Heat x (9:15:46 PM): Akito moved on once he saw more tracks leading further into the forest, figuring the group would follow. His eyes and ears were keened to listen as they moved along and remain alert.
tempered winds (9:16:23 PM): Taking out the ring from his pocket, he held it out for Akito and Agnes to see. "If either of you want to take it, go ahead. Or else I'm going to hide it and come back for it later. Same goes for the wand." If there were no objections, then John ended up digging a hole under one of the bodies and buried the items there for retrieval later. Moving on, he continued to follow the path, now with bloody foot prints and drag marks. It wasn't a good sign, but he wasn't going to jump to conclusions either. He looked over to Agnes with a faint smile. "No one will find it since I hid it. We can come back for it."
tempered winds (9:19:55 PM): "Those wounds on the bodies...were axe wounds. But I have to wonder who made them."
Agnes Clayborn (9:24:22 PM): Agnes frowned a little as the hand absently rubbed her chest, well a nasty run in with dwarves a day before , and after all that was their weapon of choice. "There is irony in that. "She stated quietly. " Axes aren't typically a weapon used. most use swords of one design or another. "She pointed out as she gave him a nod to hiding the items. She nodded to the area that Akito had found the other tracks. " We should continue. If nothing else so that we aren't lingering around the dead. "She really didn't like to do that .they had a nasty habit of popping back up to life. <d
x Silver Heat x (9:25:34 PM): "Well if we keep following the trail we'll find out I imagine." Hopefully those elementals were pansies. He nodded in agreement with Agnes. Time was of the essence in a rescue and the more time lost.. the worse the outcome could be.
tempered winds (9:25:37 PM): "I know I'm just speculating, and it's too early to say, but..it's possible that whoever took them came through this way and the Elementals tried to help." THat would mean they were still alive when they passed through here, and if they were alive then, there was a good chance they were still alive now. John needed something to go on, and even if he had no basis for thinking such, anything was possible at this stage. "You're right. It's a pretty heavy weapon too. Not easy to use."

Their weings looked tattered and ripped, but still held them up fine, and their teeth were bared, sharp and not so nice looking. But the creatures would not face them like this, they were too weak so they fled, letting the party move forward. [RP for a few minutes ]

x Silver Heat x (9:43:32 PM): "Tch.. they're trying to slow us down." Once he got a load of the fleeing creatures he got annoyed that they had stopped them from their goal and then ran.
tempered winds (9:43:55 PM): "And of course they'd run away." Since there was nothing to be done about it, he only sighed and proceeded forward. "Do you guys think..." He started to ask something, but then trailed off.

Agnes Clayborn (9:45:51 PM): She glanced at John as her hand lightly touched his arm. " We will find them.. I doubt such creatures had information either way. "She stated softly. The glance to Akito was given as the man began to walk forward again. Agnes couldn't truly identify how difficult all this had to be on John. As she walked behind both men. <d

tempered winds (9:50:15 PM): "It's nothing." He shook his head when Akito questioned him. It was silly. John knew that Akito could relate at this moment. A grateful look was given to Agnes as well. "Thanks. Let's hurry then." What little doubt had been pushed back in his mind, and he continued along the path with Akito and Agnes with renewed hope.

seekthefallen (9:52:50 PM): The path wound deeper and deeper into the forest, the tracks becoming fresher, the dragging marks looking no more than a few hours old, and now you could strongly catch the scent of Coran. That honeydew smell that came from her elven blood. Was the blood of the foot prints her's, or left over from the fight scene earlier? Maybe a bit of both? Only moving forward would bring light on the answer. --

Agnes Clayborn (9:56:19 PM): Agnes walked at the end of the line as she eyed the steps they came across. The dark eyes narrowed a little at the sight of blood as she didn't see a point to speak on it. Surely John had seen it by now himself. When they came up to the clearing she lifted a brow and stared at the huge men. She glanced to the other two..then back to those in the clearing. HOLY CRAP! <d

They walked until they reached a clearing that looked like it had been raided a few day past. There were two dead fellows on the ground, seemed to be elementals. One Earth [from the brown, rusty texture of his skin] and the other, fire [fire the bright orange red tone of his flesh.] Both had large, deep wounds in their midsections [what looked like axe wounds.] One had a very beautiful brooch on that seemed to attrack every member of the party to that dead body, in a bad way. The other, the earth elemental had a beautiful ring on his finger. The Earth elemental also held a wand in his hand. [If looted, I will explain all loot.]

Upon arriving at the clearing, he noted the dead bodies. Cautiously, he approached them. The brooch did in fact draw him to that particular body, though he refrained from touching anything. The axe wounds were noted as well, before he moved to the other body. Agnes words drew his attention and he gave a tilt of his head. "No, I don't think so. Coran is an Elemental herself."

Moving on, he continued to follow the path, now with bloody foot prints and drag marks. It wasn't a good sign, but he wasn't going to jump to conclusions either. He looked over to Agnes with a faint smile. "No one will find it since I hid it. We can come back for it."

Agnes Clayborn (10:45:59 PM): Agnes wiggled her way out from under the nasty monster as she dusted herself off. The ribs ached but the important part was the others. She walked toward them. She kept her distance for now as she continued to look over the area to ensure that there were no other creatures to come out of the woodwork.<d
seekthefallen (10:46:05 PM): Star handed the twins over to him happily, seeing as she wanted to nurse her broken leg. Coran was breatghing, but barely and her short, shallow breaths seemed watery, as if she were drowning.

John passed Adamis to Akito, and Ashlynn to Agnes once she was close enough so that they could help hold them for now. Coran was scooped up into his arms, and he sat her up a little. "Yeah, I can. If only to stabilize her until we get back. I'm still going to have someone look her over."

John closed his eyes for a moment, utilizing the healing ability through his guardian summonses to heal some of Coran's more serious wounds and to stabilize her for the time being. Then he stood, lifting Coran up in his arms before frowning at Star. But seeing the red sparks in the sky, he reluctantly agreed.
Agnes Clayborn (10:56:49 PM): She simply rocked back and forth a bit with the little one , she glanced to John as this would be his call.. once more. The steps were slow as she rolled her shoulders a little. Her ribs ached but it was worth the returning of the Rain family. With the reluctant agreement of John, Agnes set off walking with the child. The sooner the innocence and Coran were away from this area.. the better it would be. <d

tempered winds (10:58:48 PM): Well, he wasn't leaving Star alone by herself, to be exact. He summoned one of his guardians before departing the place, and the tiger concealed himself in the bushes. He would only appear if needed, that's all. The rest of them started their journey back.
x Silver Heat x (11:00:07 PM): He'd wondered why John agreed when he saw the red sparks and then he caught scent of the tiger, a familiar scent he'd come in contact with before in Makai. Then he understood and turned following John along with kid in hand.
seekthefallen (11:00:18 PM): Star wouldn't lie, soon after the team started their way back, a large group of people came running through, most running past them, but one that looked much like a priest stopped ,holding his hand over Coran's forehead. Closing his eyes his hand would glow a bright red, the heat grew around her form as it floated out of John's arms, each wound becoming less visible. "Good work, King Rain." He said as he smiled weakly and ran toward the others now. They went back for the items, and recieved 1000gp each. Coran and the family was safe, and back they went, to the LatF Manor, home.
