The young lady had moved through the new college, curious of course of everything here. The craft was somewhat....different though it was merely an adjustment to be made. The path carried her toward where else? The library. There was a few things she sought out in reference of a student she had as well as a few comparisons between the different schools of the arcane.
She had spoke before with Coran about it, and since her lesson within Rhydin with Toushiro, the neuro-pathways were now more .. receptive then before. Perhaps it was simply because she knew more about them and that they were infact there. Amazing the things that are over looked but once the attention was drawn? Not only invited questions but experiementation as well.
The small hand pressed the door open as she inclined her head to the librarian that took special care of the great hall of knowledge. Truly at one point in time Agnes could have seen no greater task for a lifetime then to be the caretaker of such a library. The small smile touched her lips.. however now? She was not so certain she could stand put so long.
All of which she blamed on the peope she surrounded herself with. All of them good , well.. mostly good people. There were a few that, she'd admit was a bit.. estranged. Such a lovely word estranged, anyway. It was by their guidance and at times their insistance she found herself out within the world. Upon adventures and missions of need.
Agnes walked slowly through the aisles with her mind flitting here and there, though she attempted to keep to her main goal, that being of course the further studies within the Psionic realms. After all she had a student with the ability, it was best she furthered her own knowledge of the craft to be a better teacher and well to ensure she knew what she was teaching!

The young lady took her time in selecting the books as she settled down at a table. She looked around the library.. then rose and selected another table. Hmm.. it would serve. Yes she was very particular about what table she used. The young lady set out the books and drew the first one to her. Above her shoulder that ugly orb of light appeared, slowly rotating in a circle as she felt herself slowly dropping off into the book itself. The information was rather fantastic as she absently bit her lower lip. The afternoon had easily faded well off into the night as the librarian came toward her with a candle. " Miss.. I am leaving for the night. " Agnes was slow to draw her eyes away from the book and gave a nod. " Very well.. Have a good evening. "She stated then dropped her attention once more to the pages before her. The amused smile touched the librarian's face before turning and leaving the girl again alone to the passages within the books before her.
The young lady spent the evening and well into the next day within the library. The books were slowly piling up beside her as she combed through the literary guides. The small cough came from a young man as he held out a letter in her direction. The brows lifted as she took it and gave a small nod. " Thank you. "
The small frown touched her face as she noticed as to who's hand had penned the letter. The small shift was taken in the chair as she pondered it and sighed softly as she looked at what was before her. How interesting.. it seemed the apprentices had been changed.. .. which left Agnes now with a study partically begun.. and now with no student in which it would benefit.
She gave a small nod as she folded it once more and set it to the side as she reached out for the book again. Regardless of the lack of a student.. she would apply her time to finish the work she had begun. After all if it was worth starting, she saw no need what so ever not to finish it. The small yawn passed her lips as she shifted and propped up her chin with a hand.

Agnes rose and made her way down through the halls , the books in hand as she gave vague nods to those around her. The young lady's mind was already filled with possibilities as she turned and set off not for her chambers but instead for the training field. The robes and skirts whispered around her ankles as she stretched the short legs as far as they could comfortably manage in that stride.
Now, if this was possible to teach someone to open their minds to the ability of psionics..it left quite a bit open for what could be. She reached the fields and looked around, thankfully it was empty , she had no desire to be polite and hold a conversation. Rude? Busy.. was a better term. She set the books down , along with her pack , before she removed the magi's robes. She would absolutely have to talk to Mela about the color. Black was a bit too .. dark for her particular tastes. However that.. was beyond the point and absolutely off the topic.
She drew in a deep breath as she walked away and gave herself some room. First there was the need to tap into the aether flow. Using the meditations taught to her the mind retreated from the physical realm around her and directed its path inward. Even through the core one could access it , the mental self delved further into the core, as it was interconnected to that vast flow.
She always pictured it to be much like a stream, contantly moving, rushing in a golden rapids. She stood suddenly at its edge. The young woman thought nothing at all about stepping into the stream allowing the initial shock of it to take place before she emerced herself further. The sensation was unlike anything else she had experienced, it was warm but calming as the limbs of her body tingled and seemed to pulse with the renewing energy.
She carefully bound a strand of the stream to herself before retreating again to her own core. This allowed a continuous flow to herself. Now with the energy remaining at a high point, she lifted her mind upward to the halls of her brain. The neuropathways that had not fully been developed for this particular branch of the arcane were carefully opened. The sensation was far more painful then she anticipated as the verbal scream erupted from her mouth.
She dropped heavily to her knees as she grasped her head. However she did not relent. The echoed residue of the pathways that Toushiro had once used upon her, were the markers of those pathways she would use.. as well as many others. She drew in more of the aether energy.. this.. would be extremely painful, but there was always a price.. and Agnes was willing to pay it for the furthering of her abilities.
She began to harbor and store it, building it and slowly she released more and more of the stream into herself. The nerves all felt as if they were aflame as she cried and her hands had reached out to dig into the dirt of the field beneath her. The young lady could feel and smell the blood that trickled from her nose , further dripping down onto her dress as she felt the pathways widening and giving beneath the strain of the energy pulsing along those corridors.
With her eyes closed she had no knowledge of the aura that was projecting around her. The swirl of light danced around her as she braved it one last time, as the final push of the energy through her system would awaken and break away the last of the wards she wasn't aware had been put into place. The ugly Yellow light danced frantically around her , even going so far as to run into her chest as if to get her to stop her actions. The flare of light erupted around her as she felt herself falling. She believed it was simply metephorically.. until her mind scolded by the energy had blacked own. Leaving the little mageling unconscious within the field.

The day had passed away for the small mage as the night slowly crept up and stole the sky. The stars littered it like tiny diamonds as they were scattered in the new constellations. Those that seemed entirely unfamiliar to the young lady as her eyes slowly opened. Her head throbbed something fierce though she felt the differences she had put into place. She didn't move from that place where her body had fallen, though some muscles protested from being laid out so for such a long period of time.
The deep breath filled her lungs slowly as she carefully began to move. The sounds of the birds had long ago faded for the singing of crickets and chirps of frogs. In the distance the sound of a hunter moved through the forest not far away from her. However she did not fear it, her hands shook as they were lifted to rub her face. The orb of light still hovered protectively nearby. She smiled slowly for the sight of Blot.
~ My Mistress.. you have awaken.. ~ The soft cherub like voice whispered within her mind as she first winced away. However it took her several minutes before it registered that she had.. heard.. Blot for the first time. She stared at it for several minutes.
"I..heard you.. "She whispered as she felt.. uncertain as she slowly pushed herself to sitting up. She felt..unsettled, if that could be the way to describe the sensation that passed through her. It wasn't as if she saw anything more then she did before.. but she did.. feel more then she had before. How unusual....yet fascinating.
~ Yes.. it was not to happen.. but.. forced it you did.. ~ the voice seemed almost saddened by that. As the color of the orb dimmed somewhat. Agnes watched the orb and the frown touched her face as she shook her head a moment.
" Wait.. what? I.. I created you when I was small... "She stated softly as the orb turned slowly and it came to hover near her as the color flickered again. " You were in the west wing of the manor... you were hiding there..weren't you? "She asked softly , trying to puzzle her way though this. Not to mention understanding completely what was going on there.
~ I was. For years hidden away I was. Safety in the darkness, hidden there.. ~
Agnes watched the orb, the side effects of the opening of those pathways wasn't ignored, it simply couldn't be however she had to think beyond the throbbing burning pain in her head. " Aunt Marie.. she hid you there.. " She spoke softly as she looked up at the orb.
~ Yes. Begged did I , protection in careful hiding. ~
She frowned a little as she looked at the orb.. this wasn't making any sense at all as she pulled her pack to her. The eyes closed a moment as she called for the flask of water to come to her hand. She released the cap before taking a long drink. She felt as if she had run an untold many miles, as the muscles within her body ached and seemed exhausted regardless of the time she had spent unconscious.
~Eat Mistress should.. need it you do. ~
" Yes I know but in a moment. Why did you ask Aunt Marie to hid you.. I.. I don't understand. "she focused her attention again upon Blot when the turning orb finally paused , the coloration shifted from the ugly mottled yellow to a darker ..uglier color.
~ Wanted.. was I.. Mistake made ....... ~
" What mistake? Blot what is going on? " She demanded to know from the orb of light. However as her voice lifted somewhat it flinched away.
~ Tell you , I will.. ~ The voice was resigned and quiet. ~ Aunt she is not.. but once betrothed.. light then.. I was not. ~ The light moved closer to her. ~ Open your mind is.. show you I will ~ Before Agnes could protest the invasion within her mind the light sank into her torso.
There she was again within the halls of the manor she had grown up in. However it was different.. very different. It was larger as the west wing was made whole within the images that appeared. A young man walked with a beautiful little blond at his side. They held hands as they moved along the halls , both smiling and looking about , this way and that as the young man held his finger to his lips. " I want to show you something.. but.. you must keep it secret. " The girl nodded, they were perhaps eighteen.. as the young man opened a door and quickly pulled her inside. As the door closed, he turned suddenly to press a kiss to the lips of the blonde as the giggling laughter came. "Amsel.. surely you didn't bring me here for that.. " As she blushed prettily though her pale eyes danced with a joy that Agnes found somewhat embarrassing to witness. The young man quickly grinned and shook his head. "Of course not..but I couldn't wait a moment longer to do it. Come.. " he stated leading her toward a wall that when an area was pressed it opened to a secreted room. The walls were of stone however the shelves that lined the walls held vials and jars.. components of various natures. If it had not been for the fact that Agnes had gone to the necromancer's tower with Agrylax and the others.. she wouldn't have recognized it. However much like Agnes's own expression when she had arrived in such a place..there was fear upon the little blonde's face. " Amsel.. what have you done? "She asked softly as she turned and looked at him. " do not look at me like that.. it is for a greater good.. I swear it. Their lives will add only to the glory of discovery.. come.. see what I have found.. " he pulled her further into the room. The pentagram had been laid in stone of the floor. The young woman followed slowly as Agnes could sense the fear all about her. " I have been working with a new spell.. soon we shall be rid of the Marked Ones forever.. Marie. then we can be safe.. to do whatever it is we wish. We can achieve power.. together.. " " You know they won't allow this.. Amsel this isn't a good idea.. you are going too far.. "She spoke softly as she stepped back from him. However the handsome young face slowly began to twist into an expression of anger. " Too far? They force us to abide by their rules.. look around you Marie.. do you think anyone misses any of these people? Do you think that the Marked Ones do any less for their Magic. " The hand reached out and gripped her arm tightly as he pulled her back in close to him. The once loving expression within her eyes had changed to one of fear. " You will help me.. " " No.. we can talk to them.. but this.. Amsel.. this is wrong.. "She spoke softly as she fought against his hold. "you're hurting me.. "She whispered. " Damnit Marie.. stop We can do this.. " he yelled at her though as she pushed him away he lifted a hand and struck her , causing the woman to stagger as she stared at him disbelieving. " You are stronger then I am.. You will help me.. do you understand?! " he yelled at her as she shook her head. He shoved her back as she crashed into the table behind her. There were several vials and bottles that shattered when they hit the ground. This seemed to anger the young man further. " Look what you have done.. "he advanced upon her though it was a flash of light that came from the girl that held him in place. "Stop Amsel.. please.. don't make me do this.. "She begged him through the tears that rolled down her cheeks. Amsel was already muttering the counter spell. " I'm sorry but I can't allow you to harm another person... "She whispered to him. The images seemed to change at that point as image of the young man shifted and the scream left his mouth while his corporal body was stolen from him.. his own abilities stifled. Through the young woman's eyes now hovered a light.. though it was poorly shaped. It glowered angrily at the girl. It flew at her as she ducked beneath it and fled the room. In its anger it crashed through the bottles and vials that had lined the walls. In his anger braziers were knocked over as the liquids ignited, soon it was difficult to see within the room from the billows of thick black smoke rose up. As merely an orb of light.. the flames did not bother him.. however even the explosion that shook the manor was not even something it could hide from. Soon the image faded to the charred remains of what was left of the west wing. Standing within the terraced yard.. the young woman stood watching in horror while the Marked Ones made the proclamation of Amsel's death.. and her involvement. Marie was to be banished from the city entirely. However they had made it clear..she was not the cause of his death. However the use of the arcane was forbidden to anyone outside the Marked Ones. Agnes saw her grandparents as well as the young man, well then, was her father.
The image slowly faded as the Orb came from the young woman and hovered there again. ~ My arrogance.. killed me.. and her spell saved me.. else I would have died.. truly. ~ Agnes sat there dumbfounded as she forgot about her headache.. she only stared at the orb of light as she swallowed hard and gave a small nod. " I see.. that's why father.. hates her.. hates magic.. "she whispered as the orb lowered itself somewhat and the color dimmed. ~ I fear it is so. I hid within the blacked halls of my own demise.. until I hear a little girl crying in fear of the darkness..~
" You made me believe I created you.. " She accused when the light bounced slowly in the air. ~You were capable.. ~
"Its also why ... I have been so eager to find the spells for breaking enchantments.. and removing curses. "She blinked and stared. " Those ideas.. those were yours... not mine... " ~ Yes.. again. However I would not have done this.. what you have done.. those wards were to protect you... ~
"wards? "She frowned and remembered the difficulties she had , had while opening the pathways. " Marie.. "She spoke softly as she looked back to the orb.
~ Indeed.. your father requested it.. to keep from a repeat of his loss .. he did not wish his daughter to fall as his brother had. ~
The small frown appeared on the young woman's face as she threw up a hand and the shove outward of the telekinetic energy came from her. " No.. I am nothing like you! " She proclaimed as she forced herself upward to her feet. ( [Spell: (Telekinesis)- Target: (Blot ) - Spell Type: (attack) - 1d20 +16] OnlineHost: Agnes Clayborn rolled 2 48-sided dice: 47 43 Agnes Clayborn: ~*~ Agnes Clayborn scored 13 poynts damage ~*~
The orb flew backwards effortlessly before it spun around a branch and came back toward her ~ Mistress... ~ OnlineHost: Agnes Clayborn rolled 1 20-sided die: 6 Agnes Clayborn: ~*~ Agnes Clayborn scored 0 poynts damage ~*~ { Save Failed }
"Stay away from me Blot.. ..Amsel.. whoever you are.. just.. leave me be! " she stated as she caught the pack and flask. The cap was replaced and it was shoved into the pack. The orb of light spun about as she made her way back toward the keep.. she..she needed to consider this..all of this.

Agnes had avoided thinking about it, the woodsman had offered a delightful and well needed distraction from the unfolding events within her life. However with the few days she had remained in the keep.. she had no choice but to consider the changes and the events that had occurred. The books seemed to offer no solace , nor did they provide answers. Her eyes looked acrossed the table from her, sitting to the side was the old worn battered journal.
She pursed her lips a moment as she drew the book to her and stared at it. There was perhaps one that could provide her with answers. However there wasn't a journey to be made.. not physically as she attempted to contact the one person that had been there to witness the events. Both to Amsel as well as to herself. Marie. It was an excercise to new ability she had located within herself. Her hands rested atop of the book as she stared out acrossed the room, however as it often happened when she concentrated upon her magic she saw nothing physical around her. But the smooth pulsating energies that seemed to thrive within everything, even the very stonework of the academy. The extension of her mind seemed to bypass the distance between herself and the lands that seperated her and her aunt.
~ Marie~ The hushed whisper seemed tenative through the link as she waited to see if there were a response.
It seemed a realm away the mage worked within her own tower. "Evie don't put that in your mouth dear. " The soft chiding came to the toddler that seemed intent on everything going into her mouth. The whisper caught her off guard as she turned and looked around a moment. She waited as the whisper came again and sighed softly. It had happened.. the question was .. was Amsel free. ~ Agnes , I see you have found away beyond my wards. ~ The voice was sweet and kind.
Agnes rocked back in her chair as she blinked and hadn't really expected the answer back as she drew in a shakey breath. ~ I did.. why didn't you tell me? You gave me your journal.. you had to know this was possible~ Agnes questioned, uncertain how long she'd be able to maintain the contact..best to simply ask and quickly.
The pretty blond mother sighed softly as she reached out to pick up her daughter and remove the toy trapped within her teeth. ~ Of course it was possible which is why I gave you the journal. There are far more answers in there then I could tell you. And.. I gave my word to your father. He was kind enough to know that what had happened.. had to. Amsel was becoming a monster. ~
~ He loved you.. ~
~ And at the time I loved him.. you may not understand, Agnes but what I did to him was far kinder then the Marked Ones would have been. However that is an argument from years ago, and done with the decision that I made. I am proud you are capable of going beyond the wards.. and I wish you luck within your studies. ~
~ Then you will not help me.. ~
~ There is no help required, remember the prices we pay for our talents aren't always prices we ourselves pay~
Agnes found herself puzzled by that however, when the words sought out more answers. Her mind found itself grazing acrossed a smooth surface ... a ward. Marie had blocked her entirely from her mind. The small sigh passed her lips as she ran a hand over her face. She had gotten a few answers but..truly it had only awakened far more questions as she had to think of what to do now..what direction to take. And with Marie's warning, she would keep in mind that any decision she made, and who it would effect. As it was, currently her decisions effected herself.. as well as one other. And.. thinking of the one other.. she felt the need to be within the presence of the woodsman. His solid nature was needed to once more for that distraction away from the things that haunted her mind.
