6/4/11 The young lady sat at her desk within her room, her eyes staring at the walls of books. She released a sign as she pondered her next study. She had faltered in the past few days to work upon it. With only three left to complete she had been having some difficulty to consider what it was she wished to work on.
The glance down to the journal beside her as she let her fingers trace over the symbols of her Aunt. Well if she were going to begin traveling and seeing the world, she would ahve to ensure she had at least three things. ironic.. the numbers. But she would need to ensure she had shelter, food and means of protecting herself.
These things sounded so simple yes? Not entirely, she needed first off shelter. While she was born to funds... there were not always people and places that would except coin from her homeland. Or well not except it at the current rate and exchange of her homeland. So, it was time to work on things of necessity.
She pushed herself off the chair and walked crossed her dorm room and lightly brushed a finger along her books. Ah...this one.. ArchMagus Wiliby's authorative information for the First Class Adventurer. She smiled and returned to her desk to seek out a suitable spell. The small lass shifted and began to turn pages as she eyed the spells but continued onward.
And there it was.. the spell that would be the object of her next study. "Secure Shelter" She grinned as she read over the contents of the spell. It was .. exactly what she needed. Splendid! Besides she truly disliked sleeping on the ground.. or in a tent.. those things had no real substance and to put it plainly.. she simply wasn't going to do it! If she were going to be an Arch Mage soon..she simply wasn't going to spend a night sleeping on the ground..with bugs.. andsnakes.. and other disgusting creatures. Not when she could provide herself with a nice little cottage to sleep in.

6/7/11
The following days were spent looking for the small components that would be needed for the spell. Most of Agnes' spell work didn't require such however she felt that it wouldn't harm anything to have these things on hand. Just in case.
Material Component: A square chip of stone, crushed lime, a few grains of sand, a sprinkling of water, and several splinters of wood. These must be augmented by the components of the unseen servant spell (string and a bit of wood) if this benefit is to be included. Focus: The focus of the alarm spell (silver wire and a tiny bell) if this benefit is to be included.
These were the things that would be needed. The square of stone.. she pondered and made her way through the city streets toward a masons shop. The soft chimes of the bells above the sturdy door made her smile a little brighter. " Good morning.. "She offered as the large gentleman turned and looked at her oddly for a moment. The expression didn't change much when she went forward to explain to him exactly what it was that she was requiring. The gentleman was uncertain as to her wishes but went into the back area of his shop and brought out the small square for her. " Thank you so much.. "She removed the coin purse from her pocket as the man shook his head. The light touch of her hand and dip of her head " again, sir.. thank you. " She offered as the man only grunted and watched the small lady depart. Strange people.. strange requests...
The next item on the list was a crushed lime. The small frown touched her face. How odd.. but if it called for the citris fruit.. who was she to question it? She set off toward the open air market to locate the vender that often dealt with such fruits. He seemed nearly as puzzled as the other when she requested only one. Then questioned him the best way to crush the fruit. With the pense paid she moved off with a smile. It seemed she was getting things accomplished.
Now then, the sand , water and wood..well those could be gotten easily enough..as she checked them off her list. The string and stick... she pursed her lips a moment as she walked along the market. There was a cart selling ribbons as she smiled and selected several at different lengths. Well she wasn't always so plain. The steps continued to the hardware store as she spoke briefly with the man running the establishment.
" I need a small piece of silver wire.. and if you have abell.. for like above the door? "She asked pointing upward as she canted her head a bit. The man chuckled and lead her through the store. The light hearted step followed along as he pointed to the smaller bells he had available as she looked them over. The final selection made as he offered her a small piece of the silver wiring, people often used it for soddering but it would work. She again paid for her items and set back off for home.
Tomorrow she would attempt the spell!

OnlineHost: See what's hot on AIM! Agnes Clayborn: The young lady made her way into the arena to try out the spell. The components in her hands as she hummed along and paused for a moment. The robes adjusted and slipped on as she slipped the backpack down to the floor. She liftedher chin and made her way out onto the sand. The light hearted smile remained on her lips as she set out the items the spell had requested. She wasn't entirely sure how to get the crushed lime.. as she absently bit her lower lip.
Agnes Clayborn: Well the only way she could currently think , was to stomp on it. So.. she did. The small foot raised up and mashed the poor fruit into the sand. Kinda messy...wasn't it? She shrugged and scooped it all up together. The dark brown eyes looked off into the distance as she began to draw energy to her. The words of the spell were slowly spoke as she wove the energy within them. The items were held up in an offering of sorts to the energy of the spell.
OnlineHost: Agnes Clayborn rolled 1 45-sided die: 42 ( Medicore ) Agnes Clayborn: She stepped back as the shelter began to take shape.. however it looked Nothing at all like the shelter she had seen sketched out. The fruit it seemed to have an effect upon the spell as it was an over sized jello mold of the cottage she had planned. The cant of her head was given .. one way.. then the other.. as she shrugged and reached for the gummy door. The interior was just as it was described.. floor... table.. cots.. however all of which was also made from the very same green sticky substance. She stepped inside and looked about.. frowning at her shoes stuck to the floor.. then all at once it failed..and the ceiling fell in with a Sploosh.. leaving the poor magi covered in lime green ichor.. though a bit of it fell on her lips as she absently tasted it. Hm.. it tasted good though!
She slowly stepped out of the ick.. and canted her head a bit.. as the green slime dripped off of her. The small frown touched her face. " Well.. it seems that wasn't it. "She glanced around. Happy she was alone.. else explaining that would have been rather .... interesting. She slooshed her way over toward her pack..but looked down at herself.. then her back. Oh bunnies!
She couldn't leave it here.. but she couldn't very well drag it along with her.. like this?

OnlineHost: *** You are in "Arts and Entertainment - Open Countryside". *** OnlineHost: See what's hot on AIM! Agnes Clayborn: The young lady had spent most of the day indoors. The stark white palfrey grazed nearby while she sat on the blanket in the grass. The quiet here was pleasant as she slowly turned the page of her book. The soft chirping of the Agnes Clayborn: crickets played within the grass around her as she drew in a deep breath. Well she was going to have to try the spell sooner or later. She looked around her, then up to the vast open sky. Her mind drifted here and there Agnes Clayborn: contemplating the conversation with Devolth. She shook her head and closed the book. Setting it before her as she slowly stood up. The soft slippered feet didn't make much noise as she moved a little ways, away from her blanket. Agnes Clayborn: The few items she had replaced since the last time she worked the spell. the square of stone, the crushed limestone, wood and sand.. she held all these things within her hands as she opened up that internal core of energy. Agnes Clayborn: The soft words , though unneeded, passed from her lips as she offered up the spell components and pressed outward with the energy from within. {f} OnlineHost: Agnes Clayborn rolled 1 50-sided die: 28 Agnes Clayborn: ( weak ) Agnes Clayborn: She watched as the energy flowed from her hands to lift the elements and began to twist them into the secured shelter. The cottage appeared before her as she eyed it for a long moment. The few steps were taken and the door Agnes Clayborn: slowly opened. The interior was neat and tidy, the hearth and cots.. the desk and candles all ready for use. She smiled warmly as she glanced around and gave a small nod. This.. was far more suitable then sleeping on the ground. Agnes Clayborn: She moved toward one of the cots and seated herself.. though the thing seemed terribly hard, it was still not the ground.. where bugs and such lingered. Yes.. this would do very well. She made her way back out and with a softly Agnes Clayborn: spoken word.. the shelter vanished once more, as she dispelled the magic that had put it together. {f} OnlineHost: Agnes Clayborn rolled 1 50-sided die: 37 Agnes Clayborn: medicore )

Agnes made her way back toward her room, she had been a bit out of it for a few days. There had been so much going on. The door was pressed open as she looked around and sighed as she closed it behind her. Between moving in and getting to know people, she was a little overwhelmed. However with the lingering solo study needing to be finished she wanted to complete it so that she could ready herself for the test that would follow.
The spell she had been mastering was one of Secure Shelter. while others sought out spells of combat, hers was to ensure that if she were out on expedition she had shelter and the necessities. Ok granted the idea of using unseen servant wasn't reallly needed but if she were wounded? Or if those around her were? There was actually some intelligence to adding it into the spell. It made it a touch more complex but certainly worth it in the end.
She once more gathered up the items she would to produce the spell fully. The small chips of stone and wood, the silvered wire and the small bell. She drew in a deep breath as she set them all into pockets while she collected her robes. The midnight coloring looked severe upon the thin young lady. The dark eyes studied herself in the mirror as she drew in a deep breath and released it slowly. The small hand slid over the brocade fabric , before she turned away. The pack was hanging from a peg beside the door as she took it with her as always.
The quiet path was taken down to the arena, or the work area. There were only a handful of true students within the College right now, though she had little time to worry over that. She made her way toward the doors and pressed them open with a small hand. The dark eyes looked over the fresh sands and smiled softly. She rather enjoyed such places, the fell of the wards that protected it hummed softly in the background.
She walked inside and slipped the pack off her shoulder and placed it at the foot of the benches. She lifted her chin slightly as she stepped out into the sand. The soft imprints of her passing always tickled her for some silly reason. More so to see the passage of her skirts over them had dulled the prints. Her hand slipped into the pocket of her skirts as she set herself for the spell.
The dark eyes stared acrossed the sand, though saw nothing truly. Nothing so mundane as the wall itself. The precious eyes instead were capable of veiwing the pulsing rhythem of the energy put into the spells of warding. She drew the small silvery thread of her core out to her hands as she focused on what it was she wanted to accomplish. The items within her hands were offered up as she pressed outward with the arcane gift.

The sands gathered slowly and rose upward to complete the structure, the small cottage appeared before her as she smiled and gave a little nod. Well.. number two down... all she had left for her solo studies was to select the last solo study spell. She lifted her hand and dismissed the cottage , else it may seem a little odd for a house to be in the middle of the arena sands.
