death of resolve: [GM] After returning the children to their parents, and
reaping the rewards for their efforts the Scar's and their allies grew
curious of the mansion the werewolves had been protecting. The drive way
death of resolve: had been left abandoned, leaving them to continue up along
the path, past the withered orchard, and tree's towards the old, haunted
mansion of Jaccobux. The weed-covered drive loops around a massive
death of resolve: tree whose trailing branches overspread the whole area.
Downslope from the tree lays the tangled orchard that covers the hill.
Opposite the orchard rises the swaybacked bulk of a once grand house.
death of resolve: Cracked, sagging stairs rise perhaps 10 feet to a pair of
weather-beaten doors flanked by filthy windows. A pair of moss-covered
statues stands on the ground, one on each side of the stairs. Five more
death of resolve: statues stand beneath the ancient tree. This is where our
adventure starts.[ OPEN RP ]
scarred design: Evan sighed, as he stared up at the house, his head tilted
to the side a little. "I'm going to suggest that we save ourselves a lot of
time, injury, and inconvenience.. and say we set the damn place on fire and
burn it, pick
scarred design: through the ashes and the debris for any treasure that
survived." This wasn't what he really wanted to do, but in movies, he
wondered why no one just did that first off?..
Ginger Complex: --Werewolves...Lycans.. Bah! Who needs them...that was one
reason he was here with the Scars, the other was simply? He was bored and
after befriending Misty and Zachary, he had been curious of the endeavors of
this place....and
Ginger Complex: looking around, the short little asian cocked his head
towards the side now, sniffing the air....trying to see if his senses would
catch something. Course they werent as good as they usually were-[d]
of stormy skies: "And what if the kidnappers have the dad's tied up in
there?" There had been more than just the kids that had gone missing, or so
the village women had said in the beginning. Turning toward Evan a moment
before glancing up the
of stormy skies: stairs to the mansion's front doors. Her shield was
adjusted a little on her body, just in case. "Yo Mist, maybe we shoulda come
in costume.. this'd make a great Halloween Party House." Big Al chimed in
from between her and Zach,
of stormy skies: grinning at the intrusion. Misty had to agree, it did
look.. spooky. "Just don't get bitten by a lycanthrope, you howl enough as it
is."
Tidal Reign: "You know...I'd probably agree if not for the risk of
destroying some good treasures by doing that." Zach peered up at the house
with a curious expression. He didn't mind exploring, and he certainly didn't
mind a little action, but
Tidal Reign: after fighting that werewolf he had to wonder what other danger
lies in wait for them inside. He tried to mask the annoyed look on his voice
when he heard Big Al's voice. Who invited him anyway. He glanced over to the
others for a

Tidal Reign: moment before turning back to the house. "So, what's the plan."
death of resolve: Arabelle grunted softly, and folded her arms over her
chest as she looked up to the house. " Screw that. I want to kill shit. " Her
gaze drifted to the guy she didn't know, and she watched him through a
narrowed eye, carefully. " I
death of resolve: am Arabelle Scar, leader of this motley crew of .. "
Pause; crazy people, miscreants, annoyances (Zach).. " .. awesome people. "
Good thing no one was here was really powerful enough to read her mind, eh? "

enchanted vassal: " That wouldn't be very adventureous, my lord. " She said
as she came up behind her husband, and placed a hand at the small of his
back. " Besides, we both know you rather enjoy the killing part. " She smiled
softly, and dropped her hand to her side. Her other hand was holding onto
the strap of her back pack; it was heavy - Evan should carry it for her. Iona
looked a little less luminous as usual, she was tired.
scarred design: "Bah, all that logic and rational thought stuff." Of course
they were all right. Still, it would be hilarious.. for whoever the leader
is, to be sitting there, plotting, only to start smelling smoke before he's
burned alive! "We
scarred design: should go room-to-room, checking to make sure it's always
clear before advancing." His wife was given a firm pat on the rear.
Carrying her own bag would make her big and strong! "I'm ready when you guys
are.."
Ginger Complex: ---Blink blink blink...he turned towards where Misty was and
pointed.- "....what is that?" -Of course he was pointing at the one
referred too as "Big Al" the name having its own intake Never having never
seen anything like that,
Ginger Complex: and whenever he would hear the person speak, the
leader..--he turned and bowed towards her.- "Habuki, and its a pleasure to
meet you. Mmhm, I do not mind." -That's why he wore gloves! Psh, no dirt
would betouching this vampires
Ginger Complex: cleaned pale skin---thankfully thanks to a certain skill
[Daywalker] the sun did not either.- "I am ready when you all are."-[d]
Tidal Reign: Pft. Zach was no annoyance. She had to admit he was useful to
have along! He snorted hearing Habuki's question and glanced over to Misty
with a grin, waiting to hear what she would say. "I'm ready too."
death of resolve: [GM] As the group gathered around the entrance - without
warning, the tree's furrowed bark twists itself into the semblance of a
gaping mouth. The unlettered are unwelcome here," the mouth intones in
death of resolve: Common. "Withdraw, or perish."
scarred design: "Misty, if that guy wants any loot, he needs to join up
officially." He gave a nod to 'Big Al', while waiting on Ara to get them
moving. Oh damn! A talking tree, like on Lord of the Rings. He'd let
someone else answer it..
Tidal Reign: "...The tree is talking to us. Let's burn that instead."
enchanted vassal: Iona had seen many things coming to this place, and
Rhy'Din -- but a tree that talked? That was new. She blinked, and her
eyebrows furrowed together. " I don't think it'd like that! "
death of resolve: They could try setting it on fire, if they really wanted
too!
Ginger Complex: --Hearing Mistys response now, he shrugged his
shoulderblades and walked onwards as they came over towards the giant big
tree. He would keep his hands on his sides as they approached.-
"....Hm,pesky little something. I do not n
of stormy skies: Why did that remind her of Labyrinth somehow? It had
distracted her for a second before glancing at Buki. But Big Al interrupted,
"This, my friend is a satyr butt. Ain't never seen one, get a good look." He
snickered and glanced at
Ginger Complex: negociate with....trees" -Insert "terrorists"-[d]
Tidal Reign: "So. It's insulting us." He shrugged.
of stormy skies: Evan. "I'm the protector, of course I'm joined up, dude."
Big Al glanced at Misty and shook his head exasperated, like they should know
this but Misty had turned back to the tree. "Setting it on fire might make it
attack." Do they
of stormy skies: really wanna thousand year old oak taking swipes?
death of resolve: " Well, I don't know about you guys, but I don't plan on
dying today, should we go forward? "
scarred design: "Ignore it, if it doesn't attack. Let's go inside.."
Ginger Complex: --He blinked at where the Saytr was and shook his head.-
"...Hm, let's go ahead and go forward." -And he nodded, the damend tree
might of just been talking shit [trees tended to do that, he imagined] and
thus he walked ahead now-[

death of resolve: [GM] With a sound like a whole hillside giving way, the
statues step menacingly off their pedestal. The two large statues by the door
swipe out their arms to grab those closest to them, and drag them
death of resolve: up into their arms, holding them up off the ground. [ SC -
10+ to Pass, and escape the hold. Fail - and you're out of combat for a full
round. ]

of stormy skies: Misty yelped as the statue dove and grabbed onto her,
thankfully her shield kept it from crushing her. "Get off me you dolt." Big
Al cursed under his breath and took point next to Zach and getting into
stance.
Ginger Complex: ---Watching her stunned, he huffed and pulled his blades out
and rushed towards [Grasping Statue 1] where the one that had taken ahold of
[Ara] was, he swept forth as he attempted to strike the individuals arms and
break the woman
Ginger Complex: free---with an added press, he struck hard and fast, the
blades coming down with their own self evident blows- [ Duelist - +3 Fighter

jumping out of the way of an attack. Scowling, he ignored the leaping statues
and tried to help free Misty instead. Both blades were brought down on the
grasping statues.

holding her, thanks to the continued assaults of those around her. There was
a grunt, and a scowl. Her blades form in either hand, the one in her left

that had been holding her, and with a snarl she went after it. The hilts of
her swords were sent into the broken bits of the statue, in an attempt to do

creatures met the would-be intruders of the mansion.

to avoid the statues who were prancing around like ballerinas, and he charged
the grasping statues once more, blades raised to strike.

then another in an X formation, looking giddy while hitting something; the
satyr was quickly losing his happy go lucky mood!
Tidal Reign: "Whatever. So why didn't you go seduce that talking tree we
passed back there?"

Gabriel Scar: So, he was basically just here to keep everyone alive, and
that's why he wasn't chiming in on the conversation. Still, now that he was
released - and after a quick survey to make sure no one was losing their
intestines - Gabe slammed the blunt end of his polearm into the statue that
had dared snatch him up.

scarred design: The grasping statues remained the target of his ire, swords
bashing into their stone bodies in an attempt to break large chunks off, so

of rubble the doors of the mansion creaked open. The group were given access,
but there was no one there to greet them. The main hall has

the staircase that leads to the floor above, looking over is a balcony. To
the left is a door and to the right another door, and another long

and if he couldnt see [Darksight] would always help. Eyes were focused as he
stared ahead, trying to figure out which path would be best...blades sheathed

followed when Zach decided to move into the main hall with the others. "Sure,

Ginger Complex: ---Well someone had made a decision and that was best...each
of them were just relying on blind faith anyways, right?- "Hm...that works!"

room that once served as the reception area and waiting room. There are still
a few pieces of furniture, but they are old and decayed. Anything
death of resolve: of value was long gone. There was another door to go
through on the opposite side of the room. [ OPEN RP - go back, or move

enchanted vassal: Iona skittered in after Evan, and took him by the hand as
they moved through the door. " This place is creepy.. " She murmured and
looked around the place.
scarred design: Well, since this room was a bust, he at least moved to the
far door to open it, and check to see what was beyond. "It really is.."
Tidal Reign: "Great. Another door." He remarked sarcastically before looking
over to Misty. "You okay?" He figured she was, but he wanted to be sure.
Ginger Complex: --And entered the musty room they did, he looked around and
sa that anything of value was gone, but there was another room.-
"...Hm....let's see whats on the other side of the door. Couldn't help hm?"

taken into an empty room that was once used as a music room. Most of the
instruments are gone now, save for a sole violin with broken strings and
death of resolve: a piano, with one leg missing. There is another door
beyond this, which leads north. [ OPEN RP - move on, or go back? ]
scarred design: "I'll bet 10 gold there's something past that door. Two
empties, means the third is filled with baddies.."
Ginger Complex: "...Bah another bust." -He shrugged his
shoulderblades---couldn't hurt to keep going on now could it? --So he looked
to the other for disapproval and if none was there, would enter the next
door!"-[d]
of stormy skies: As they traveled through the left wing of the mansion, she
glanced up at him and nodded. "So far so good, thank the gods rocks don't
bleed much." She joked, poking fun at herself a little and Big Al stuck his
head between them
of stormy skies: trying to figure out what they meant by that. Misty just
bopped him on the forehead. "Move."

She didn't really like the feeling of this place, so she didn't joke around
as much as usual.
death of resolve: [GM] Moving on, they would open the door to a grand room,
with marble floors. The southern wall is covered head to toe in mirrors.
Several wrought-iron chains hang from the ceilings, and were once
death of resolve: used to hold up the chandeliers - which were now on the
floor, dusty and broken. Apart from a few old chalices used for wine, there
isn't much in this room to salvage. There is another door to the right.

Ginger Complex: ---And thus another broken room and he huffed a little bit
now as he looked around...and there wasnt anything to even look at. Another
door too the right, he shrugged and took up arms as he headed towards the
front now, testing the

scarred design: "Well, dog's dick." Good thing no one bet. He moved over
to snatch the old chalices, and threw them into his bag out of frustration,
before moving on..
Tidal Reign: "Yeah." He chuckled as they walked through each room, and when
Big Al stuck his head in between them he pushed the goat's face away. "Don't
invade my personal space." Continued forward.
enchanted vassal: Iona followed her husband, though this room -- she
imagined - would have looked rather pretty at one time. She sighed softly,
and shook her head.
death of resolve: Ohh.. mirrors. Arabelle was mezmoried - by herself! She
lifted a hand and started to run her fingers through her hair.
Gabriel Scar: Gabe smacked one of her hands, shaking his head. "No! No!"
of stormy skies: Okay they both were just so rude! Just for that he moved in
close to Zach's ear and said, "I KEEL YOU!" and started laughing obnoxiously,
until Misty took an index finger, jabbed it in the satyr's side and zapped!
The faint smell of

followed after the rest of the group. He was such a spoilsport..

brought back out into the main hall, under the balcony and the stairs. They
are left with two options, to ascend the stairs or to move down the

Ginger Complex: "....Hm....which one Seems lie the right might lead us ina
circle again, but it might be worth checking out, JUST incase...."-[d]
death of resolve: " Its best to check everything, we don't want to leave an
enemy at our backs. " She nodded slowly, and started to move to the right -
unless there were any objections, of course!
Tidal Reign: Zach instictively moved in the opposite direction when Big Al
tried to close in on him again. Then he snorted after Misty zapped him, and
returned her grin. Since he fell back a little he reached over to take Misty
by the hand. "How
Tidal Reign: big is this place, sheesh."
Ginger Complex: --And he moved towards the right side and nodded.- "No
obejctyions here, we'll hit the stairs last." -And right door was walked too
and door opened, taking point at the moment-[d]

course she was following still, not like she minded that any. Hand in his
squeezed affectionately, while Big Al followed the rear pouting now.

opening the door..

smell the decaying odour of hay, and other things of that nature. It was
obvious horses had once been housed here, though they were no longer
death of resolve: present. There was nothing present, save for one carriage,
which had once carried the family to appointments. The carriage seems to come
to life in an instant. Creaking and pitching like a ship in a
death of resolve: storm, the vehicle rears up on its rear wheels. Its front
wheels spin crazily and the long wooden tongue attached to them whips about
like a wicked tentacle.

plane came to but a thread. " The mausoleum, the vampire! " That was all he
could manage before he become a blinding ball of light,

and leaving them there, alone. The werewolf had fled, howling into the
daylight and towards the mausoleum. The library itself was full of books,

amongst the group. The library was huge, and it would take months, if not
years to go through them all. There were candles, letter openers

death of resolve: There was a locked chest, somewhere behind one of the book
cases which Arabelle claimed because she had the key. She couldn't really
carry anything else, though.. so she left the others to collect that.
of stormy skies: Misty peered out from over her shield, sure that was
another attack but when he wasn't she glanced around and moved over to see if
there were anything of interest, any scrolls that Buki didn't get. Or
whatever.

enchanted vassal: Iona was all but breathless as the light faded, leaving
spots infront of her eyes. She blinked a few times, but after a moment she
gathered up the book the man had been holding before he'd started his attack,
and tucked it into her backpack.

books on the table..

else too he thought would be annoyed by it. He was hyper now with apparently
