Agnes Clayborn: "you will have to forgive me I can only repeat what I have

Halo of Noire: "I'll have to look those up, thanks Agnes. The three main
creatures I wish to tell you about, besides temporal dragons are
chronovoires, destiny haunts, and warp ravagers." She frowned a bit, and
motioned to the illusionary screen
Halo of Noire: that appeared beside her, which would show up the various
creatures as she spoke.
Halo of Noire: "First, chronovoires. These time aberrations resemble various
creatures, but because of the effects of paradox as it appears in our world,
they are twisted and terrifying. They may be made up of
Halo of Noire: various creatures, crafting itself into a horrifying
amalgamation. These creatures very touch ages a creature 1d6 years. It is
difficult to look upon chronovoires without feeling nauseated, they are so
Halo of Noire: abhorrent."
Halo of Noire: " Destiny Haunts are created when reality is twisted by a
gross violation of fate. They appear as little more than a spark of lightning
that refuses to fade. Destiny Haunts come into being two ways,
Halo of Noire: one is through a chronomancer quirk, the other is when a
character avoids death by pure luck or chance, cheating fate. They can leap
about around the haunted, shock them, and otherwise make their life
Halo of Noire: miserable."
Halo of Noire: "And finally, the Warp Ravager. Chronomancy is a difficult
and dangerous practice. Sometimes, it's force is so great it fractures a
chronomancer's sanity completely. The chronomancer develops such a
Halo of Noire: hatred for reality that he becomes a beacon for chronovoires,
and eventually when they are able to call one into the world they merge with
the creature. The chronomancer dies, and is reanimates,
Halo of Noire: twisted and warped by the chronovoire. Their bodies appear
withered and rotted and their eyes glow brilliant gold. They use a Black
Staff, which was created from energies when they died, as weapon. Each
Halo of Noire: end of the staff has the ability to send a creature straight
into the continuum once per day. They are immune to fire, acid, cold and
electricity. As an undead they are immune to sleep, paralysis,
Halo of Noire: poison, psionic effects, stunning and disease."
x Silver Heat x: Akito slipped in quietly in the back, and took a seat. He
set the carrier down besides him, as jaded hues looked toward the speaker and
listening.
Halo of Noire: She paused, as the various creatures appeared on the screen
and then faded. She'd continue.
Halo of Noire: "Chronomancers understand that past and future co-exists with
the present, and not only that but all possible pasts and futures as well on
alternate timelines. The strings of time are woven together
Halo of Noire: into an intricate tapestry only the most powerful can
unravel. The school of chronomancy is most closely linked to alteration, but
it also contains divination spells (seeing into different parts of
Halo of Noire: space/time), necromancy spells (death is a significant event
in time), and enchantment/charm spells (changing how time is perceived)."
Halo of Noire: "Let's discuss the Temporal Plane again for a moment. We've
claimed a few creatures for the plane, but does anyone know any of the
various names that the Temporal Plane is known by besides merely the Temporal
Plane? There are a
Halo of Noire: couple."
Halo of Noire: "The temporal plane is called various things, such as the
continuum, the void-between, Temporal Prime; but no matter what name it goes
by, it is where the strings of time coincide. Where all pasts and
Halo of Noire: futures are woven together, all possibilities waiting to be
discovered. Though it is the plane of time, there is no time there. Where
there is no time, there is no distance as distance implies
Halo of Noire: movement and movement implies time passing. It is an
uncomfortable place, a place that can drive a creature to insanity. It takes
time to get used to it, and as one realizes what exactly this void-between
Halo of Noire: is, the awakening occurs within them as they realize the true
meaning of time.
Halo of Noire: A chronomancer learns to step into the temporal plane
completely, leaving reality behind. Through "rips" in the fabric of time, he
can move anything he wishes between reality and the void-between.
Halo of Noire: Normal magic cannot touch the continuum, nor can normal
portals open and send creatures into it. The continuum isn't really even a
place, it is a single point of all-time comprised solely of ideas,
Halo of Noire: every possible idea there is. There is no distance in the
continuum, no up, down, left, right. It is accessible from anywhere, at
anytime. No barrier, magic or otherwise, can block a chronomancer's
Halo of Noire: ability to traverse the continuum." She paused, allowing the
information to sink in.
Halo of Noire: "Questions so far?"
dammyalexlove: :::shakes his head to at least let her know he is still alive
back there::
Angelic Omicidio: She shook her head no, thinking.
Halo of Noire: "Another important part of chronomancy, you've heard me
mention several times now, is Paradox. Paradox is the force of will that
holds reality together. It is what chronomancers come to understand
Halo of Noire: that awakens them. The idea that reality is so fragile, that
the world around them relies on the mind. Paradox has grown powerful with the
creation of more and more intelligent creatures, who add to the
Halo of Noire: fabric of time with their memories and thoughts. Forgetting
is the bane of paradox, for when something is forgotten then it no longer
exists. It no longer has an effect upon history if it is
Halo of Noire: forgotten, it is literally ripped from the fabric of time. To
be forgotten is to be completely destroyed. The world stands on the razor's
edge of the chaos and possibility of the temporal plane (the continuum)
Halo of Noire: on one side, and lawful paradox on the other preserving
history and time. It is because of paradox that chronomancers can safely time
travel without fear of wrecking existence, for if something is
Halo of Noire: attempted to be changed that is supported by memory, then
paradox protects the history."
Halo of Noire: "A chronomancer is a very, very special type of mage. Now,
you know I don't think that one magic is more important or 'better' than
another, but I will say that chronomancy is special. Not better, but
Halo of Noire: extremely unique. A part of the awakened chronomancer has
touched the continuum and he remains changed forever. A chronomancer is not
inherently evil, nor are they purely good; there is more of a
Halo of Noire: neutrality to a chronomancer's stance. They view the world as
a balance between chaos and law. They are a secretive lot, feeling for one
thing that the ravages of touching the continuum are too much for
Halo of Noire: the average person to bear. There is one personality quirk in
all chronomancers, and that is humility for he realizes the power of the
paradox is far exceeding his own. This often leads to
Halo of Noire: chronomancers taking careful thought before making any
action; sometimes a chronomancer's plans can seem long-winded or overly
cautious to others. Humility does not prevent ambition though, though even
the most
Halo of Noire: evil of chronomancers is usually a subtle opponent.
Chronomancers also hold a different view of gods than most, feeling that a
deity's source of power is through paradox." She paused again, her
Halo of Noire: lecture stopping as she drank coffee and watched the faces of
those around her.
Agnes Clayborn: Agnes was simply watching her , though it brought up
questions..she'd not likely ask among the class. {f }
Halo of Noire: "The awakening is a difficult time in a chronomancer's life.
For one to three weeks, and sometimes longer, a newly awakened chronomancer
has serious effects of the awakening. This can range from
Halo of Noire: heightened aggression and obsessive behavior and some grow
hateful of the world, thinking it has lied to them from birth. Most
chronomancers find their own balance fairly quickly but some shatter
Halo of Noire: completely, becoming demented and unable to continue in their
studies. All chronomancers, regardless of their level in magic, become flawed
..we sometimes refer to this as a quirk for a chronomancer, upon
Halo of Noire: awakening."
Halo of Noire: "Some flaws are ones that occur to all mages, but some are
very specific to chronomancers such as shattering any mirror they are around.
Stopping clocks and watches when they are in the area. A lost gaze where for
several moments
Halo of Noire: or even longer a chronomancer is lost to the world, dreaming
of other times and places. They may find it very difficult to keep time and
always make it to where they need to be 10 to 15 minutes late. They may have
major insomnia
Halo of Noire: issues. They may attract the attention of a destiny haunt
that hounds the chronomancer until either the mage or the haunt is destroyed.
They may flicker in the timestream, disappearing for moments of time."
Halo of Noire: "Now, the point you all have been waiting for right?
Chronomancer spells....."
Halo of Noire: "Questions before we continue? Comments?"
Agnes Clayborn: ?
Halo of Noire: "Yes?"
dammyalexlove: :::looks around and shakes his head before scribbling down
the last of the notes so far::
Omega Okami: ::She shook her head as she crossed her arms over her chest,
leaning forward to listen in::
Agnes Clayborn: " From what you are saying in order to use such spells
wouldn't it be .. not only extremely difficult but hazardous to tamper if you
are not of this particular ah.. school? "She inquired not exactly the word
she was
Agnes Clayborn: looking for but it suited for the moment. {f}
Halo of Noire: "In a word, yes. But, I'll say that there are some very
simple chronomancy spells that if you are gifted in alteration, or divination
that are easier to tap into the continuum than others. But if you wish to use
major time spells,
Halo of Noire: there is going to be a price to pay, and it is extremely
dangerous. Think of an elementalist, let's say fire. They could burn down
their home, their village, or themselves if they mess up. A chronomancer
could revert to an infant,
Halo of Noire: or destroy a person's life. There is a saying that even the
flapping of a butterfly's wings can change the course of history. While
Paradox does protect many things, other things it does not. " (think about
the movie The Butterfly
Halo of Noire: Effect if you've seen it. If not, you shoudl watch it.)
Halo of Noire: should*
ShadowDark7: ?
Agnes Clayborn: The smal nod was given as she let her mind turn over what
was being taught. {f ]
Halo of Noire: "One of the more simple abilities or spells of a chronomancer
is simply a way to make yourself move faster. Sometimes called 'Alacrity',
you use the timestream to seem to move faster, when it is really the time
itself you are
Halo of Noire: manipulating. Yes, Shadow?"
ShadowDark7: just how far would you recommend on Paradox being
Paradoctored , since that seems to be what Chronomancy does?
Halo of Noire: "I'm not sure what you mean. I think that it depends on the
chronomancer, if I'm understanding you completely. To fuck with time, excuse
my language, is dangerous as I've said. Perhaps a good mage would not wish to
tamper with the
Halo of Noire: Paradox as much as an evil one, but all have a respect of
Paradox and the timestream. You get into the temporal plane and start pulling
the strings all willy nilly well you'll have a mess on your hands."
ShadowDark7: ;;nods;; alright thank you
Halo of Noire: "Now in my final moments, I'll go over a few spells. We can
discuss things afterwards if anyone has questions." She turned the page to
the list of spells she was going to share.
Angelic Omicidio: She looked over to Shadow. This was reminding her for
Furtrama.
ShadowDark7: ;;smiles back at Amata;;
Halo of Noire: "Another aspect of chronomancer is divination, the ability to
look into the near future. Many use tarocchi cards, they have a special
connection to the continuum and the decks are rare and special.
Halo of Noire: This allows you to use a spell that is sometimes referred to
as an Oracle. A simple yet useful spell is one that allows you to return
recently damaged or altered objects to their former condition. Such
Halo of Noire: as if a window is broken, or a robe is ripped. It's known as
various things, even Mending. The more powerful of chronomancer can undo
larger things, such as when our tower itself was mended a few
Halo of Noire: nights ago after the attack."
Halo of Noire: "Another skill of chronomancers is to pull themselves out of
the loop of time, then appear in what seems like only seconds somewhere else.
This is good for evading attacks. They can Timewalk, which is
Halo of Noire: much like umbral travel, or ethereal travel, and appear
anywhere, at anytime if they can follow the Strings of Time well enough.
Some, though, not skilled enough have gotten lost in the strings
Halo of Noire: forever. Also, chronomancers can be healers. They simply
revert the wound back to a time when it was not wounded. Chronomancers can
also manipulate chronoplasm, much like shadowstuff. They can make
Halo of Noire: weapons, armor, and other items of chronoplasm. And of
course, chronomancers can age objects or creatures. A favorite attack is a
touch attack that ages a creature. They can stop the decay of a dead body.
Halo of Noire: They can create 'wrinkles' in time allow for movement of long
distances, in short. Think about a fabric, and crushing it together. The
whole distance of the fabric was traveled, but less time."
Halo of Noire: "And some chronomancers learn the skill of time manipulation
so well that their bodies never age. Yes the years go by, but time never
affects their body. In essence, a fountain of youth. Those are just a handful
of spells that
Halo of Noire: chronomancers may use. They can also summon chronovoires to
use in battle. And a very favorite of a good friend of mine, Emmarie, is in
combat to cause the last attack that was
Halo of Noire: substantial to reoccur during the next round of combat. Now,
questions, comments?"
ShadowDark7: ?
Halo of Noire: "Go for it."
ShadowDark7: Is the "Gate" spell something like that?
Halo of Noire: "If you specify the temporal plane as the plane of existence
you wish to go to, then yes."
ShadowDark7: ;;nods;; thank you
Halo of Noire: "Just be careful about opening gates to the continuum, you
never know what may be waiting as it opens. Such as a warp ravager."
Halo of Noire: "Anyone else?"
Angelic Omicidio: Hook her head no
Omega Okami: ::She shook her head.:: No, I think I got it. I think time
might be a little...not really my prime specialty. Knowing me, I'd muck up
the timeline by blowing a hole in it.
Halo of Noire: "Oh one more spell that I remember seeing used is a spell
that creates clones of you made of chronoplasm. Shadow mages do this, as to
illusionists, but chronomancers usually use chronoplasm. Well, thanks all,
you are dismissed.
Halo of Noire: Feel free to still ask me questions, but those that wish to
leave may do so."
Agnes Clayborn: The small shake of her head was given at that point. The
glance was given down to Safara as she chuckled softly. Oh that would be
very bad. {f}

amalgamation.
Halo of Noire: "Questions so far?"
dammyalexlove: :::shakes his head to at least let her know he is still alive
back there::
Agnes Clayborn: Agnes was simply watching her , though it brought up
questions..she'd not likely ask among the class. {f }
Omega Okami: ::She shook her head as she crossed her arms over her chest,
leaning forward to listen in::
Agnes Clayborn: " From what you are saying in order to use such spells
wouldn't it be .. not only extremely difficult but hazardous to tamper if you
are not of this particular ah.. school? "She inquired not exactly the word
she was
Agnes Clayborn: looking for but it suited for the moment. {f}
This was reminding her for
Furtrama.
ShadowDark7: ;;smiles back at Amata;;
Oh that would be
very bad. {f}
Halo of Noire: ( log off )
