Attendees (Full hour): Amata, Winter, Cierra, Emily Estcarp, Akito, Morwyn, Amuiril, Kumiko, Darien, John Rain
TrinityFlareX: Emily jogged on in, she was in her sports bra, a small jacket and short shorts with kick boxing bandages wrapped around her feet and hands but no shoes or sandals. She had her green robe but had not bothered putting it on just yet,
Halo of Noire: (ok, well at least it's not just me then. but it's absolutely annoying)
masque of truth: Cierra was actually punctual for something. Someone needed to mark the calendar, celebrate the day! Coming from the Red Banner’s halls, a wave of her hand wove her green Apprentice robes over her clothes before she stepped into
masque of truth: the Arena. The illusion master had more pep in her step,
as they said, but she was not about to shower the joy on everyone like a
perky cheerleader. Don’t worry.
TrinityFlareX: her hair in a high ponytail then braids down her back
shorting the slightly pointed ears and the four wings at her back, as
tattoos. She had a file with her, earphones on as her ipod tucked on her
shorts as she came to a halt peer-
TrinityFlareX: ing around before the 5'4" paced herself over to a seat.
x Silver Heat x: Akito stepped into the Magi Arena, with his adepts blue
robes over his street clothing as usual. A brief visual sweep was given
before he made his way to a seat at the bleachers.
DragonLightMage: Heads into the Arena with his blue Adept robes, he would
then wave to all as he sat.
I Kumiko Kuroda: Kumiko had never been to any function yet as a Magi, but
there was a first for everything! She skipped into the arena and gave
everyone a friendly wave. Since everyone was finding a seat, Kumi did the
same thing. "Hi!" She greeted.
Halo of Noire: (Log's On. Please state your mage rank and name, and legion
for the record.)
Halo of Noire: ^v^ 12/1/2010 9:00:02 PM ^v^
masque of truth: “Apprentice Cierra Reive Zaltro, Evening Song.”
TrinityFlareX: "Apprentice Emily Estcarp, of the Dream Spider."
x Silver Heat x: "Adept Akito Takano, Iron Gauntlet."
Morwyn Briggan: Novice Morwyn Briggan, Red Banner
Amuiril Travm: "Adept Amuiril Travm. Dream Spider."
I Kumiko Kuroda: (Initiate, Kumiko Kuroda of the Blood Rose.)
DragonLightMage: "Adept Darien Baronstar of the Red Banner"
(haloognoir-(head mistress) rimegaards(Legion commander))
Amuiril Travm: Amuiril arrived into the Arena, making way to settle himself
into a seat, as usual.
tempered winds: John entered the arena, thankfully having made it on time.
He was donning his apprentice robes as required and found himself a seat real
quick. "Apprentice John Rain of the Iron Gauntlet."
OnlineHost: TarnishedWarlord has entered the room.
Morwyn Briggan: Hemline whispered a hiss on stone as each foot took stride,
moving through corridors toward the night's arcane session. A journal,
leatherbound and etched with a rose, tucked in the crook of her arm. She soon
settled to a seat.
DragonLightMage: (haloofnoir*) Darien would love hearing about familiars.
DragonLightMage: (brb)
Halo of Noire: Melantha wore her formal crimson robe again tonight as she
did every Wednesday session. Hair pulled back in a bun, she held her folder
in hand and stepped up upon the wooden platform where her lectern was
located. Settling she would
Halo of Noire: open her folder to produce her class notes, before tapping
upon the microphone to see if her minions had turned it on as she'd told them
to. She gazed out at the crowd gathered, a slight smile upon her dark red
lips, nodding to
Halo of Noire: all those gathered. "Good evening, everyone. Shall we begin?"
OnlineHost: Angelic Omicidio has entered the room.
Halo of Noire: (State for the record)
I Kumiko Kuroda: Situating herself to get comfortable and listen, the girl
smiled brightly when Melantha began to speak and offered a finger wiggle
wave, signifying she was ready as ever! Kumi gave the Head Mistress her
undivided attention.
Halo of Noire: (Also remember, if you wish to comment use ! and if you wish
to ask a question use ?, and you will be called upon.)
TrinityFlareX: Emily took out her earphones, turning off the playlist as she
tucked it onto her lap with her robe. She was too warm right now from
jogging, and later needed to do a spar or two. She was feeling rather
energetic tonight.
Angelic Omicidio: ( Apprentice Amata Omicidio - of Blood Rose, Halo of
Noire mentor. )
DragonLightMage: (back)
OnlineHost: damnable reverie has entered the room.
I Kumiko Kuroda: ( wb!)
masque of truth: She shifted in her seat slightly to accommodate that damn
baby bump. No tansy tea for her, Melantha. No, ma’am.
DragonLightMage: (ty)
damnable reverie: || Apprentice Winter Las'Cer of Evening song /
masqueoftruth commander/ halo of noire men. ||
Halo of Noire: "Tonight we will speak on familiars. As a show of hands, how
many of you have had a familiar in the past or have one now?" She hadn't
really noted that many had familiars but she could have just not been
perceptive.
Angelic Omicidio: Slipped into the seats carrying her bag. Ploed into it.
DragonLightMage: ?!
TrinityFlareX: "..." Someone was pregnant... maybe sure she stays seated
somewhere not near.
Halo of Noire: "Darien did you have a question? Or merely raising your hand
to say you have a familiar?"
DragonLightMage: "Both, Shila, my dragon, considered a familiar?"
x Silver Heat x: Akito didn't really even know what they meant by
'familiar'. He wasn't familiar with much, so instead of raising a hand he
glanced around to see who raised their hands.
I Kumiko Kuroda: Kumiko raised her hand, she had one! She thought? Yeah!
Halo of Noire: "You have to answer that, Darien." She knew very little about
his dragon or the relationship between them, it was not for her to call the
dragon his familiar.
Angelic Omicidio: With how Darien raised his hand she thought.. for a moment
that he was going to wet himself. I mean look at his ? and ! he was
EXCITED!
Halo of Noire: Indeed he was!
TrinityFlareX: She merely raised her hand, Sapphire was considered her
familiar.
OnlineHost: rogue evil has entered the room.
tempered winds: Sitting with his left foot rolled over the opposite knee, he
pulled out his notebook and a pen. John wasn't sure if his guardians were
considered familiars. So a hand went up with a question in mind. ??
masque of truth: Cierra hid her laugh behind her hand, but her mun lol’d
irl.
Halo of Noire: "To begin, let's just define a familiar for those that may
not have the experience with them. A familiar is basically an animal or
creature of some type that is bound to a mage. This is usually a voluntary
bond as it is a very deep
DragonLightMage: Ah, well the bond was great and they did win the horse race
when she morphed even after being on her quest to get stronger alone, she
came back and was still as friendly as ever.
tempered winds: Nevermind. She was defining it now. Hand went back down.
Halo of Noire: connection between mage and familiar and it provides benefits
which we will talk about to both the mage, as well as the familiar from the
bond. It is said that the bond of a familiar and a mage is perhaps the
closest companion a
OnlineHost: Lejenta has entered the room.
Halo of Noire: mage might have, except for possibly one's spouse or equal
companion. John did I answer your question or did you still have one?"
tempered winds: "That answered it. Thanks."
OnlineHost: DevolthDagora has entered the room.
x Silver Heat x: ?
DragonLightMage: The question was more of CAN a dragon be a familiar as
thier bond was strong enough to be one.
Halo of Noire: Nods. "Yes Akito?"
OnlineHost: DevolthDagora has left the room.
x Silver Heat x: Akito had a pondering expression on his face as she
explained the strong bond between a familiar and mage. "With as strong a bond
as you say they have with a Mage, does that mean one may only have a single
familiar? Or many?"
OnlineHost: PsncTrnc has entered the room.
Halo of Noire: "One familiar, and that familiar can only have one mage."
TrinityFlareX: She did miss Sapphire, she almost wanted to call him here but
he would disrupt the class, but if Mela asked for an example.. well Emily
would gladly offer her and Sapphire up.
x Silver Heat x: He nodded slowly, though he had no familiar nor any
particilar desire for one that was an interesting concept.
PsncTrnc: Jeska made her way into the Arena joinign the others. Two crows
perched on her right shoulder as she take the time to listen.
PsncTrnc: (Traffic Sorry)
I Kumiko Kuroda: Kumiko pouted slightly, she wanted a zoo of familiars!
There went her plans. But at least her songbird would be faithful.
Amuiril Travm: "..." Amuiril listened quietly, having never had a
familiar himself--nor the opportunity to have one [in his own ideal of one].
Halo of Noire: "You may have various companions or pets, but the bond of a
familiar is a psychic and strong bond is usually only made with one creature
at a time. We will speak as well on what happens if you no longer desire that
familiar or that
OnlineHost: DevolthDagora has entered the room.
Halo of Noire: familiar dies. One of the main reasons that mages gain
famliars is the common idea of what a familiar does, and that is simply that
it assists it's mage in casting magic. But, familiars do far more than merely
boost your casting
Lejenta: ::the skunkette had taken the bow she had a possible high score
with to her quarters, then walked into the magi arena and took a seat to
listen::
TrinityFlareX: Emily tilted her head listening to the lesson.
Halo of Noire: ability. While familiars are never considered pets, many are
given names such as a pet might have. Familiars usually stay with their mage
until the mage's death, or the familiars death, or they are released for some
reason. You can
Halo of Noire: even capture a familiar in bottles, rings, stones and the
like and only pull them free when you wish; but the best working relationship
occurs with a familiar that has somehow been karmically attracted to you or
that you have
Halo of Noire: somehow bonded with. Even if your familiar started out as a
mere regular animal, through the ritual to create the bond, they gain certain
abilities... as do you. A familiar is very attuned to psychic powers and
magical vibrations
Halo of Noire: and therefore can be of great help to you to watch out for
negative auras in others, or psychic disturbances. You can also use your
famiiar to do certain duties for you, which is known as "sending".... as you
are empathically bound
OnlineHost: Amuiril Travm has left the room.
OnlineHost: Amuiril Travm has entered the room.
Halo of Noire: to your familiar and they to you, they bear many of the same
abilities as you do. You can send your familiar, for instance, to cast a
magic spell upon someone that can be done through touch. An attack, even
healing, could be done by
PsncTrnc: Jeska was recording soshe could refer to this later. The two cros
on her shoulders squaked and clashed beaks before she kindlyseperate them by
moving one to her other shoulder.
Halo of Noire: your familiar. Now, some familiars are more combat-ready than
others, and in some cases your familiar can even fight at your side, or in
your place for you. Familiars are also useful in that you can gain certain
traits from that
Halo of Noire: familiar to assist you. For instance, if your familiar was a
bat, through your bond you could develop blindsense. If your familiar was a
snake or a weasel, you could gain the ability of a greater sense of smell. If
your familiar was
Halo of Noire: a toad, you could possibly develop a hallucinatory
persperation. Maybe low light vision from a hawk or owl. These are just some
normal animal traits you could gain. You could expand this to include any
type of creature, monster,
Halo of Noire: or animal you could make a familiar." She paused, looking
around to see if there were questions or the like.
TrinityFlareX: !
Halo of Noire: "Yes, Emily?"
TrinityFlareX: "Much like my hippogryph, Sapphire, he isn't magically
inclined but with his talons he is more a combative familiar."
Halo of Noire: "I would say that if your creature is not magically inclined
and does not assist you in casting magic, he is not a familiar he is an
animal companion."
OnlineHost: FooIishBIood has entered the room.
masque of truth: Slight nod.
TrinityFlareX: "Oh, hmm but I can still telepathically speak to him and he
can't do that to anyone else."
Halo of Noire: "You may still bond to animal companions. Think of a druid
with the ability to speak to animals. The animal isn't magical because the
druid understands it."
TrinityFlareX: She nodded, though Hippogryphs weren't exactly clasified as
basica animals. But so far Sapphire had not shown any magic attacks or such."
TrinityFlareX: -"
Halo of Noire: "I am not saying you aren't bonded to your creature, but a
familiar is a very certain kind of animal companion that boosts your magic.
Your familiar is able to assist you in being alert to things also due to the
empathic bond that
Amuiril Travm: ?
Halo of Noire: you share. A spider for instance, scurrying around and taking
heed of what is happening before you even enter the area, can impart great
knowledge to you." She paused, nodding to Amuiril. "Yes?"
Amuiril Travm: "Perhaps it would be better to assume a familiar is not
a companion, but an extension of the mage himself?"
Halo of Noire: "I believe they are companions, but of a magical nature, who
have so deeply bonded with the mage that they share emotions, thoughts, and
desires in some cases. So yes, I would say that a familiar is an extension of
the mage in that
TrinityFlareX: She let out a sigh, well guess that meant Sapphire wasn't a
familiar though such little lines were thin. At least she knew now, she
flopped back in her spot, lifting up her ipod as she scrolled through
something.
Halo of Noire: they hold much of your same power. If you are a healer, your
familiar can heal. Your familiar can cast touch spells that you know, but
only the ones you know. This empathic link if the creature does not have
ability to speak, is
OnlineHost: Thunderbolt13232 has entered the room.
Halo of Noire: more based on emotions. If you are fearful, your familar will
feel that fear and vice versa. You can also tell if your familiar is sick,
dazed, nauseated and the like as they can tell this about you. This empathic
bond is so strong
Thunderbolt13232: HEY HEY YOU YOU I DON'T LIKE YOUR CHAT ROOMHEY HEY YOU YOU
I DON'T LIKE YOUR CHAT ROOM
OnlineHost: *** You have ejected Thunderbolt13232 from this room ***

PsncTrnc: ?
Angelic Omicidio: Was it a full moon? It seemed the Stupids were out...
Morwyn Briggan: It was the target for all the familiar's to practice
attacking on...
Halo of Noire: between the two and being an extension of the mage, that if
you experience something and your familiar is not there, they still gain the
knowledge. And the same for the familiar." She paused. "Yes, Jeska?"
PsncTrnc: "You stated that Amage is usually boundto only one familiar, yet in
my home world I know of one who is bound to two, they are magic in nature and
serve as a personal exention of the whom I speak of. Would you clasify
PsncTrnc: this an a possibility of mage bound to two familiars or simply
bonded to two companions?"
masque of truth: The new moon would actually be December 5th, so .. close ..
Halo of Noire: "I would never say that it could never happen, but I would
consider it a rare circumstance. I would also encourage mages to work with
one familiar for some time before they ever attempt to take on more than
one."
PsncTrnc: She nod and record this.
Halo of Noire: "Another great thing a familiar can do for you, is to speak
with other creatures of it's kind if necessary. For instance, if you have a
raven familiar and are on a quest, you could ask your raven to speak to the
other ravens in the
OnlineHost: FooIishBIood has left the room.
Halo of Noire: area to glean information that is extremely useful. We all
know ravens are the gossips of the world and know most everything in the area
where they live. If not even beyond." She grinned a bit, and continued. "If
you have ability to
Halo of Noire: scry, you can also scry on your familiar and see what they
see, wherever they are."
DragonLightMage: Quoth the raven, never more.
PsncTrnc: The two on her shoulders looked at each other and tilted their
heads to the right as if they were listening to the class as well.
Angelic Omicidio: !
Halo of Noire: "Now as for types of familiars, that really is an open book.
There are regular animals as I spoke of earlier, such as cats, ravens,
snakes, owls, other birds and reptiles, spiders...rodents such as mice,
chipmunks, ferrets
Angelic Omicidio: *?
Halo of Noire: rats and mice. Vermin also work, such as cockroaches,
crickets, dragonflies, snails...and of special note, spiders make great
familiars. And I'm not just saying that because I have a great affinity for
them." She winked and shrugged
Halo of Noire: and would pause. "Yes Amata?"
Angelic Omicidio: "If you have a familiar and don't know it.. and you scry
will you still be able to see through it still?"
Halo of Noire: "I don't think you can have a familiar and not know it. The
bonding of a familiar between a mage and a creature takes at least a day if
not longer of rituals, it doesn't just pop up randomly. You'd know if you
have one."
Angelic Omicidio: Shrugged thinking at that. Hmm.
Halo of Noire: "Other types of creatures could be monstrous creatures, and
planar creatures such as mephits, pseudodragons, fire lizards, celestial
hawks. Some choose large regular animals such as bears or moose or the like.
Some necromancers
OnlineHost: TrinityFlareX has left the room.
Halo of Noire: form a bond with an undead creature like zombies or
skeletons, or even odder things they've animated. Some have even taken oozes
as familiars. Familiars can also use magic items, but you have to be logical.
Don't expect your raven
Halo of Noire: to wear a cloak, or your snake to don boots! Now your cat
might enjoy the boots, but that's a different story. You could still create
magic items that boost their skills and use collars, wing bands, even rings
if the creature can
Halo of Noire: wear one. Now, to gain a familiar, you must first locate the
creature you wish to bond with. You must somehow keep that creature where you
can perform your rituals for at least a day if not longer. Which means, if
it's a creature
x Silver Heat x: Akito wondered if oozes were anything like the giant
gumdrop fiends he'd fought in training. They looked silly, but formiddable
enough to make him shudder at the mere thought of those. He continued
listening, as the Head Mistress
x Silver Heat x: spoke.
Halo of Noire: that has been drawn to you, or mutually agreeable to the
process there is no problem. But, catching a mouse or some wild animal may
mean you have to cage the beast until the rituals are over and you have
established your bond. If
Halo of Noire: the ritual fails, prepare for the creature to attack you. If
you are dealing with an intelligent creature then they must be in agreement
to the bond, if you have charmed the intelligent creature it won't work.
Also, you don't trade
OnlineHost: LovelyGeminiCat has entered the room.
Halo of Noire: out your familiars. Once a creature is your familiar they
don't become anyone else's familiar -- even after they are dismissed in most
cases. It would be very rare that they'd agree to another bond. The bonding
can even be part of
Halo of Noire: the training that you are doing with an animal. Now if you
decide you no longer want that familiar you may dismiss it. It loses the
skills and magic it had while bonded to you and you will find it very hard to
gain another for some
Halo of Noire: time. If your familiar dies, you will feel it as if part of
your very heart and soul has been killed. There is no way around it, you will
suffer great heartache and sorrow, and can possibly even fall ill. If you are
familiar with
Halo of Noire: elven bonding between each other, it is somewhat similar. Now
elves can die if their bond is broken by death, but you will be weakened,
sick and sorrowful for some time."
Halo of Noire: "Psions have special familiars sometimes referred to as "pet
rock", that are psi-crystals. We will discuss that in detail when we talk
about psions. Druids also are a bit different with their familiars, and they
are more inclined
Halo of Noire: to have animal companions rather than a full -fledged
familiar. They can even infuse part of their spirit into plants and create a
mobile plant creature with a bit of free will. But, we will speak more of
that when we discuss druids
Angelic Omicidio: ...... Giggled.
DragonLightMage: Hmm when Shila was gone he did feel something missing. Pet
rocks hmm itneresting.
Angelic Omicidio: Wondered if she was the only one who had a messed up mind
that went to something like.. 'I bet this is how Anthros were made'.
Halo of Noire: in detail. A druid may also create what is called a totemic
weapon which is made when an animal willingly gives it's spirit to be
sacrificed to create the weapon, often an animal companion."
PsncTrnc: ?
Halo of Noire: "Well I've talked your ears off tonight with very little
input from you, so I will now open the floor to comments and questions."
Halo of Noire: "Yes Jeska?"
PsncTrnc: "Could it be said that the longer the bond with your familiar the
more harsh it will be on the mage if the familiar dies. OR is the feeling
equal no matter the length in time?"
Halo of Noire: "I would agree that the longer you are bonded to the familiar
the more effect it will be when they die, or you die. As if you die, it will
affect the familiar a great deal as well. I just think that if the familiar
is an extension
Halo of Noire: of the mage, the more time that passes the more experiences
shared, emotions shared, and closer they two become that it would be much
harsher to lose a familiar you've had for decades than one you've had for a
year." Nods.
Amuiril Travm: !
Halo of Noire: the two*
Halo of Noire: "Yes Amuiril."
Amuiril Travm: "I have noticed some practictioners (not necessarily
mages) bring out a familiar only when casting high level spells."
Amuiril Travm: "When the spell was complete, they dismissed their
familiar once more."
Halo of Noire: "Yes, some keep them tucked away and only call them when they
truly need the boost, for whatever reason this may be. Sometimes they keep
familiars in trinkets, rings, stones and bottles and only pull them out for
certain things. It
OnlineHost: rogue evil has left the room.
Halo of Noire: is the mages prerogative as to how close and how much use one
gets out of a familiar. Some might choose to be with their familiar as a best
friend, day in and day out, some may only need them once a month or even less
time. You
Halo of Noire: each would develop your own uses and way with a familiar."
PsncTrnc: !
Halo of Noire: "Yes Jeska?"
Lejenta: (ni ni all)
DragonLightMage: (ni ni)
PsncTrnc: "Would there be different levels of power amagecould drawon
depending on theiremotinal tie with their familiar such as a mage who choose
his familar asabest friend to that who stores his in a trinket?"
PsncTrnc: [Stupid soft press spacebar ><]
Halo of Noire: "A mage that is around their companion at all times or much
of the time, may have developed a closer empathic bond as far as feeling and
seeing and knowing what is going on with the familiar. As far as power
levels, that is more
Halo of Noire: dependant on the power level of the mage. If a high level
archmage has a familiar that they merely pull out every now and again, and an
apprentice has a rat in their pocket day in and day out, that archmage is
still going to have a
Halo of Noire: more powerful familiar since the magic of a familiar is based
on the mage as it's extension. A familiar can also help regulate one's excess
magical energy in this way."
OnlineHost: Lejenta has left the room.
Halo of Noire: "Unless that familiar is already a magical creature, it's
going to be based on the mage's own power. But, that apprentice and his rat
may be able to sense things around them and have a more developed empathy. If
that makes sense."
Halo of Noire: "Thank you all for attending and if you wish, you may leave
at this time. Of course, as always, I'm still open for discussion and
questions."
DragonLightMage: Thinks.
DragonLightMage: ?
Halo of Noire: "Darien."
DragonLightMage: "Now, With Shila, I feel a bond with her greatly and when
she left for the personal growth solotary quest that i knew she had to take
since she told me in her own way...do you think that if ever she, fully...was
unable to come back
DragonLightMage: would i feel that too? She did come back and all safely
now, but I think there is one more stage..."
Halo of Noire: "There are some that say that dragons cannot be familiars.
Pseudodragons yes, maybe even fae dragons, but not full sized dragons. They
are more along the lines of companions and because they are magically
inclined already they can
PsncTrnc: ?
Halo of Noire: choose to bond with a mage and assist them ..if they want...
dragons can be very ...oh what's the word... proud creatures I suppose.
Giving of their time and talent for a time and moving on. But others say that
a dragon can become a
Halo of Noire: familiar. Only you and she know the bond that you have
Darien. If you feel that bond already and she were to break the bond and
leave, then yes I'd imagine you'd feel it. You may not die from it, you may
feel heartache like the loss
Halo of Noire: of a lover."
Halo of Noire: "Jeska?"
PsncTrnc: "My last question. Do you think a familiar is for everyone, are
there any cases you may sugest a mage not bond themselves with one?" She
squeeze it out as the class was being dimissed.
PsncTrnc: is there*
DragonLightMage: Hmm so It was a deep bond but not familiar? hmm...
Halo of Noire: "Every mage is different. Even mages of the same House, or
that use the same magic such as two pyromancers, are different. Whether you
wish to call and bond to a familiar is a personal decision that each mage
should
Halo of Noire: decide upon weighing the pros and cons and if it is something
that is really necessary. I myself have no familiar and I need no familiar.
I'm not saying I will never have one, but I may not. So yes, I would say that
a familiar is
Halo of Noire: not for every mage and that it is a personal decision one
must make themselves."
Halo of Noire: She could argue perhaps that she was her own familiar!
I Kumiko Kuroda: Kumiko was already humming a song in her head, remembering
her little songbird. She didn't call on her familiar so it didn't feel
deprived of it's freedom.
PsncTrnc: She nod and look to the two crow's on each shoulder. "Back home
you two." The two crowssquaked and flew off seeming pleased with the data
collected.
Halo of Noire: "Any other comments or questions? Perhaps someone has decided
they do not need a familiar and would like to share why? Or someone that has
a familiar would like to tell us what good comes of it?"
OnlineHost: a perfect artist has entered the room.
Halo of Noire: "And again, you are all dismissed that wish to leave. We are
merely discussing things now." She even stepped from behind the lectern and
put her hands clasped behind her back, smiling.
x Silver Heat x: Akito stood having heard the class was over, he stopped
long enough to look at the crows curiously for a moment until the flew off.
He wondered about others of his kind momentarily, before moving along toward
the exit.
Halo of Noire: (If any of you decide to gain a familiar, on a quest, or
personal storyline, feel free to post it on our CoMA board.)
a perfect artist: -He would come in. He was late, but better than not
showing up. He was sure Maksim would follow him.-
DragonLightMage: Maybe the fairy was his familiar, eh bond was not strong
enough
I Kumiko Kuroda: "My songbird is personal back-up vocalist! Amplifies song
to stronger power." She volunteered! Though she did not have a name picked
out yet, she still was new to having the sweet thing around.
Halo of Noire: "Very good Kumi, a great choice for you."
I Kumiko Kuroda: She beamed at the compliment and nodded emphatically.
"Yes!"
PsncTrnc: "More from personal notes I know having a familiar is a good
source of mana control for those new to magic. Sometimes even for the more
experienced when they feel heavier source magic is required."
tempered winds: The notebook he had with him was now filled with notes.
After offering a departing nod to those who were present John stood and made
his way out.
Halo of Noire: Speaking of fairies, the mischeivous and ratty winged fairy
that lived in the tower flitted over to the lectern and sat on the edge,
peering out at the crowd. The tiny thing began making faces at them all.
OnlineHost: tempered winds has left the room.
LovelyGeminiCat: Do spiders count as familiars? -He would emerge finally
from his shadowy spot.-
Halo of Noire: "Exactly, Jeska. Good point made. Especially helpful to those
with too much energy they can't control as a conduit for that energy."
Halo of Noire: "Spiders can be bonded to, yes."
Halo of Noire: But if anyone ever caged her and tried to bond to her, she'd
eat them when she was free.

before he made his way to a seat at the bleachers.

He was donning his apprentice robes as required and found himself a seat real

Morwyn Briggan: Hemline whispered a hiss on stone as each foot took stride,
moving through corridors toward the night's arcane session. A journal,
leatherbound and etched with a rose, tucked in the crook of her arm. She soon
settled to a seat.
DragonLightMage: (haloofnoir*) Darien would love hearing about familiars.

Halo of Noire: all those gathered. "Good evening, everyone. Shall we begin?"
OnlineHost: Angelic Omicidio has entered the room.
Halo of Noire: (State for the record)
I Kumiko Kuroda: Situating herself to get comfortable and listen, the girl
smiled brightly when Melantha began to speak and offered a finger wiggle
wave, signifying she was ready as ever! Kumi gave the Head Mistress her
undivided attention.
Halo of Noire: (Also remember, if you wish to comment use ! and if you wish

TrinityFlareX: Emily took out her earphones, turning off the playlist as she

really noted that many had familiars but she could have just not been

Halo of Noire: "To begin, let's just define a familiar for those that may
not have the experience with them. A familiar is basically an animal or
creature of some type that is bound to a mage. This is usually a voluntary
bond as it is a very deep
DragonLightMage: Ah, well the bond was great and they did win the horse race

came back and was still as friendly as ever.
tempered winds: Nevermind.
