Instructor: Headmistress d'Syr
Attended (actually saw an entrance)
arecklessheart, amuiriltravm, angelicomicidio, dragonlightmage, dynamicfatality, eldiabloskhorn, trinityflarex, vvnuitvv, wardenhashibara, damnablereverie, lovelygeminicat
Warden Hashibara: Enter the apprentice.
Halo of Noire: She shuffled her papers in front of her, giving some others
a chance to arrive, then turned her gaze out to see who had gathered. There
was a part of her that thought no one would show up to hear her gab, but
indeed, people had
Halo of Noire: shown up! She began taking the names of those in attendance.
One did not have to be a magi to attend, either, it was open to the public.
a reckIess heart: There was a pop similar to a rubber band being snapped as
the girl teleported into the arena, pet skunk in tow.
Dynamic Fatality: Few blinks were given when hearing his name. Perking up
slightly to give a glance over the shoulder, catching sight of Nuit. Puzzled
look instantly spread over his face, standing and taking multiple steps up
towards her
OnlineHost: DragonLightMage has entered the room.
OnlineHost: damnable reverie has entered the room.
Angelic Omicidio: Was in like a fat girl in Jenny Craig.
DragonLightMage: Having heard about the class after winning two archery in a
row he headed to the magi.
Dynamic Fatality: location. He would occupy the empty space beside her with
a smirk being given. "Didn't expect to see you here."
Angelic Omicidio: ( ... brb grandma )
El Diablo Skhorn: ::Skhorn just sat attentively watching Mela, and waiting
for her lesson to begin, sitting alone in the center of the bleachers::--d
damnable reverie: - slippedi n. -
Vv Nuit vV: A slight smile was given. "Ditto."
TrinityFlareX: Pet.... skunk? Well Emily hadn't seen Jewel the past few
days, so for her pet was the animated wooden minature horse as Emily merely
sat alone and placed her little horse in her hands.
Amuiril Travm: Sitting beside Nuit, the Vectorian gazed over towards Alex,
and nodded once. His heavy armor had a slight change, bearing a flowing blue
mantel from his shoulders down to mid-chest or elbows.
Amuiril Travm: His helmet turned again, facing the others that had begun to
enter.
Halo of Noire: Brownie points for those in attendance, and perhaps even
awards at some point. So she looked around, and made sure to write down
everyone. Once she'd given a fair amount of time for people to enter and take
their seats, she would
a reckIess heart: She gave a wave to Emily and sat down next to her. "Hi."
Beam! The skunk was poking its head out from her jacket near the neck line.
Halo of Noire: begin. "Welcome everyone, thank you for attending the first
actual full class we've offered here in the college. We mainly focus on
one-on-one instruction, at least we have in the past, but I felt the need to
bring a classroom
TrinityFlareX: She blinked, nodding to the one who sat beside her and then
eyed the skunk, whispering. "It's not gonna spray the area right?"
Halo of Noire: setting for some things, as I feel it could help everyone and
not just one apprentice at a time. All of you that are actually members of
the college, would you please lift your hand so that everyone can look around
and see duel
Halo of Noire: partners for the future?
Halo of Noire: "*
TrinityFlareX: She raised her hand.
Dynamic Fatality: He would give Amuiril a nod before shifting his attention
off towards Mela.
Amuiril Travm: Amuiril raised a gloved hand.
DragonLightMage: Had actually followed her and her skunk after hearing about
the class, was listening to Mela and Raised hand.
a reckIess heart: Hand was stuck into the air.
a reckIess heart: And then she shook her head at Emily.
Warden Hashibara: Her hand went up.
Angelic Omicidio: Waved hand.
El Diablo Skhorn: ::Raises his hand::-d-
DragonLightMage: Waved to all, Yuriko was here to, focused back on Mela.
Halo of Noire: "Very good, then. Tonight's class is an overview of the eight
schools of magic, something every one of you should be familiar with, even if
you don't cast magic from all of them. Why? Because at some point you will be
given an
Halo of Noire: apprentice, and that apprentice may or may not be in your
House, and may or may not cast magic from the same schools as you do. So,
knowledge is power, is it not? So, to begin our class, which will last only
an hour even if we do
Halo of Noire: not complete everything, I would like someone to tell me all
eight schools of magic. Not the subschools, merely the eight main schools."
TrinityFlareX: One palm craddling the horse, another finger stroking under
its chin, yes it was a wooden brown horse literally moving like a normal
horse would. She didn't know all eight and wasn't sure if looking at the
roster was cheating.
Warden Hashibara: She'd let one of the others answer this, as she taught
this topic elsewhere.
El Diablo Skhorn: ::Raises his hand:: "I dont know for sure, but I can try!"
Angelic Omicidio: ( BRB grandma again! )
Halo of Noire: "Skhorn go for it."
a reckIess heart: Elahn held up her hand - she knew this. It was part of the
tutoring she received as a girl back in Riva.
El Diablo Skhorn: ::He stood and begin to list the ones he knew::
"Abjuration, Conjuration, Illusion, Necromancy...Umm"
DragonLightMage: Wasn't sure if she meant weavers ecetera or what.
El Diablo Skhorn: "I cant remember any more actually...Sorry" ::he took a
seat::-d-
Halo of Noire: "Someone go ahead and speak out and add the others."
a reckIess heart: "Abjuration, conjuration, evocation, divination,
enchantment, illusion, necromany, transmutation."
a reckIess heart: And that .. was a mouthful.
El Diablo Skhorn: "Dammit...I knew Evocation, and transmutation...I just
didn't want to say it, because I wasn't sure" ::he pouted::
DragonLightMage: Wondered where Elemantalsim fell into.
a reckIess heart: She gave Skhorn the two thumbs up.
TrinityFlareX: "Psiconics?"
OnlineHost: FooIishBIood has entered the room.
DragonLightMage: (elementalism*)
El Diablo Skhorn: "Psionics is a sub category"
Amuiril Travm: "That is a style, not a school, Emily," the Knight
calmly reminded.
Halo of Noire: Indeed it was. "Very good. I also want to make mention that
there are some spells that are considered Universal, but we won't go into all
of that at this point, but one example would be a Wish spell. Of course,
there are numerous
TrinityFlareX: Head tilt then nodded, as she fished out her book pulling out
her notebook writing down the schools of magic.
OnlineHost: Clarita Moreau has entered the room.
Halo of Noire: sub-types, such as chronomancy, hydromancy, pyromancy,
druidic... but in each of these you can often find spells from various
schools. You'll see as we move along. There are also various ways to cast
magic, which is how I've
El Diablo Skhorn: ::He raises his hand after hearing Druidic::
Halo of Noire: determined to split you up into Houses, and in another class
we will delve into HOW one casts magic and the different types, but psionics,
divine, soul, weaving...these are various ways one can cast the very same
spell. Yes, Skhorn?
Halo of Noire: "*
TrinityFlareX: She thought about that ring she'd gotten, it made sense
really to fit for Mela and made a note of that in her book. She knew of
Druidic, though her father only taught her how use her own. Was it divination
or something else?
El Diablo Skhorn: "Druids use Divination mostly, with some evocation right?
So how is Druidic itself considered a sub-category? That is just something I
read"-d-
TrinityFlareX: She tapped her chin with a pen, she listened though she had a
pretty good idea why.
Halo of Noire: "Druids aren't just diviners, druids are very well rounded
and can pretty much cast spells from all the schools, so a druid will decide
what they wish to focus on. We can talk about exactly how that is done in
private, and perhaps
Halo of Noire: as we go through the schools you'll see that yourself. So,
hold your questions for a moment, as I'm sure you all have many, and once my
class is over I will take questions as long as you have them to ask." She
gave a nod, smiling
DragonLightMage: Raises hand, he had a sort of off-topic question,
but...almost on the same length but didn't know how to ask it. Wondered if
this was also a private topic.
TrinityFlareX: Ha, Emily was totally right on her train of thought why
considering druidic dabbles in all but as well it's own Order in a sense.
Halo of Noire: softly. "Let's start with the school of Abjuration. This
school...." She paused seeing Darien's hand. "Can this wait until the end of
the class or is it imperative to what we are talking about at this moment?"
DragonLightMage: "Can...something in the blood effect magic flow?" he just
needed a yes or no, any further answers could wait.
Angelic Omicidio: Woke up some
Halo of Noire: "Yes, it is possible. Now, on to Abjuration. This school of
magic includes spells that are mainly focused on protection, or spells that
interfere with other spells or supernatural abilities. They create various
types of barriers,
Halo of Noire: these barriers can be against something physical, or magical.
They can do this various ways, such as harming someone, or even sending them
to another plane of existence. For instance, this very building you sit in
has several
Halo of Noire: abjuration spells in place. One is basically called "Proof
from Teleportation." This abjuration spell resists anyone just teleporting
inside through any means, and deposits them at the front door when they
attempt it."
El Diablo Skhorn: "What about teleporting out?"
DragonLightMage: He still never tried a mage duel after that one spar.
Raises hand.
Halo of Noire: She paused, glancing around. "You could also proof a room or
building against.. evil, or lycanthropes, or vampires. Teleporting out is not
an issue, teleporting inside it is not an issue. I just don't want random
people appearing in
Halo of Noire: my office in the dead of night." She nodded at that, as she
clarified. "You can use teleportation in duels and such. Just, use your feet
to walk in or you'll be on your rear at the front door." Grins a little.
TrinityFlareX: She tapped her chin, sounded like the Silver Vale her mother
created as she thought about something and decided to raise her hand once
Mela was done speaking about the subject.
Halo of Noire: "Yes, Emily?"
TrinityFlareX: "What about auras, say like one that mostly emits from a
person whether harmful or peaceful that causes a certain emotion?"
DragonLightMage: "Does it work for portals?"
Angelic Omicidio: ( BRB again )
Dynamic Fatality: Would remain quiet while continuing to listen. Crossing
both tribal marked arms over his chest with a lean being given back into the
wall for some position support.
Halo of Noire: "I would personally consider that an enchantment, Emily. And
yes, portals or just a shortened way of saying teleportation, Darien. Now,
some examples of Abjuration spells besides what I mentioned are a simple
"dispel magic", "break
Halo of Noire: enchantment", and "remove curse"."
TrinityFlareX: She nodded, ok so her aura that she kept to skin touch wasn't
in that school but seemed enchantment. She scribbled that down in her notes.
DragonLightMage: Thought that teleportation was a physical movement into a
place and a portal was a rift-type that could open to anywhere.
Halo of Noire: She would continue, as this was more a lecture, though she
would take questions if they needed answered, though she would stay and
answer questions at the end as well. Teleportation and portals were related,
closely. "Conjuration is
Halo of Noire: a bit more in depth, there are five subschools that are
important to conjuration. I'll name them all for you now so you can write
them down. Calling, Creation, Healing, Summoning, and Teleportation."
Amuiril Travm: "..." Amuiril's helmet tilted some as his
particular specialty was discussed.
Halo of Noire: "Conjuration, as the name implies, manifest some sort of
object, creature or person - it also can bring some type of energy to you. It
can bring a creature from another plane to this plane. Transport objects or
creatures over great
DragonLightMage: Wondered If the bomb was a summoning calling, or a
creation.
Halo of Noire: or small distances, heal, or simply create something right
before you. It's a wide school as you see. Can anyone tell me the difference
between a "Calling" spell and a "Summoning" spell?"
Amuiril Travm: Amuiril raised his hand.
Halo of Noire: "Yes Amuiril?"
Amuiril Travm: "To call a creature will fully transport that creature
to your particular location. If the creature has at least animal
intelligence, it is granted the ability to return 'home' whenever it
wishes."
Amuiril Travm: "They do not require the summoner to maintain the
creature or its power. It is independant. The downside is it will retain all
wounds, even death, once the 'call' is finished."
Amuiril Travm: "In contrast, a summoned creature is maintained by a
summoner's power. If the summoner falls unconcious, or it is dimissed in
some way, the creature will return 'home' as if it never left."
Amuiril Travm: "Whether or not the creature retains memories of its
service depends on the summoner's type of magic."
Amuiril Travm: "Further, summoned creatures that are 'killed'
automatically reconstitute at 'home'. They do not retain wounds as Called
creatures do."
Angelic Omicidio: ( back )
FooIishBIood: Why had she snuck in on this lesson? Shi'naer couldn't
understand half of what any of them was saying, but rather than appear openly
lost, she simply sat back and did her best brooding. (d)
Halo of Noire: She grinned and nodded. "Correct, exactly. And it cannot be
dispelled by another, the spell ends when it is called. If a summoned
creature is destroyed, it often takes some time for it to reform on it's own
plane of existence, but
Halo of Noire: it does manifest itself eventually again and can be
re-summoned. I really can't add to what Adept Travm has stated so we will
move on to Creation, a creation type spell is simply as it's called...you
create something out of what's
Halo of Noire: around you. A blood golem for instance, created from the
spurting blood of your enemy. Or a blade created of shadowstuff. Healing is
also considered a conjuration because if you think back to it's definition,
you are conjuring or
El Diablo Skhorn: ::Skhorn raised his hand::
Halo of Noire: changing something before you, in this case, conjuring new
flesh, skin, bone and the like to replace the wounded areas, or broken bones.
Now there are some that would disagree, and if you are one of them that's
fine, but I believe
Halo of Noire: healing should go in this category. Yes Skhorn?"
DragonLightMage: Figures it might be a creation the way he forms the
Firebomb, and the shadowarrior, and the golem. He was a weaving creationist?
El Diablo Skhorn: "You said that a Summoned Creature could not dispelled by
another. But I have read about a speall called "Area Dispel" And it
specifically states that should a summoned creature/monster be caught within
the area of the spell, it is
El Diablo Skhorn: very possible to dispel the magic holding the creature
there, thus sending it back to whence it came, in fact, I have the book in my
room, and I can back that up if you'd like to see"-d-
Halo of Noire: "A creature that was called, not summoned, cannot be
dispelled. I was talking about the difference between calling and summoning."
DragonLightMage: He thought that he said called creatures couldnt be
dispelled
OnlineHost: rogue evil has entered the room.
DragonLightMage: Ok was right
El Diablo Skhorn: "Oh, my bad."
El Diablo Skhorn: "I misunderstood."
Amuiril Travm: "Any non-native creature can also be simply 'banished'
to its home plane, regardless of how it arrived," Amuiril clarified.
Amuiril Travm: "Even a 'called' Creature can be banished, assuming it
comes from another world."
DragonLightMage: Raises hand.
Halo of Noire: "And finally, the last subschool of conjuration, is
teleportation - a very popular sub school I might add. Teleportation simply
takes an object or creature from one place to another, and the use of the
astral plane is popular." She
TrinityFlareX: "Such as certain demons, they are merely on this 'plane' but
if 'killed' and were not born here can be sent back?" She mumbled then
clamped her hand shut hearing Mela continue.
Halo of Noire: paused, nodding. "A banishment is different from being
dispelled, so you are correct."
Halo of Noire: "Yes."
TrinityFlareX: hand over mouth shut*
DragonLightMage: "From my understanding, I create my creatures of
'Summoning' does that fall under summoning and can be dispelled?"
Halo of Noire: "Do you create them from what's around you, or do you summon
them from where they exist?"
Halo of Noire: She would let him answer his own question.
TrinityFlareX: Thought for a moment, it was almost like food... calling or
creating was like baking a pie, while summoning was either buying or taking a
pie from a different house.
DragonLightMage: "Well, I create my bomb from heat sources or from my
fireball I make, when i made the shadow warrior i pulled the shadows you used
on me to make it and I form the Golem from the stones around me"
Angelic Omicidio: Emily must be thinking of how John is summoned with food.
Halo of Noire: "So, do you create or summon?" She did not falter, merely
watching him.
Halo of Noire: He used the words 'create' and 'made' so it was an easy
answer right?
DragonLightMage: "Create, but is it able to be dispelled as a summon?"
El Diablo Skhorn: "If that is the case Mela..Evocation could also be used to
"Summon"-d-
TrinityFlareX: No, was more thinking Darien's question. "Shouldn't we call
her Mistress since she's teaching?"
DragonLightMage: "I mean, Amuiril captured my creatureas as a summon,.."
a reckIess heart: " ... "
Halo of Noire: "It can be dispelled, as it isn't a called creature. It's a
magical creation from what is around you so a mage with more power could
destroy it." That was the best she could do without more thought. She looked
to Skhorn. "We haven't
El Diablo Skhorn: "Because Evocation creates something from nothing..Using
unseen forces..Or something to that effect..So couldn't one powerful enough
create a golem or creature essentially using evocation, and you are right
Emily.. I apologize
El Diablo Skhorn: mistress"-
Halo of Noire: gotten to Evocation yet, let's wait till we get there so we
don't confuse anyone."
El Diablo Skhorn: "Understood"
TrinityFlareX: "Because you formed the beast, basically... it had no life
until you made it and breathed it in, right?"
DragonLightMage: Nodded to Emily.
Halo of Noire: "But yes, often there are fine lines between schools and
sometimes spells can be of more than one school as I'll show you at the end."
Halo of Noire: "And, just like anything, there are always going to be
differing opinions. Magic is not cut and dried always, like politics." She
grinned then continued. "Let's talk about divination. I don't think I'll be
able to get to all the
Halo of Noire: schools tonight, but I appreciate the great questions you all
have. So we will continue another night. But I believe we can get to one,
maybe two more. So divination... everyone probably thinks immediately of
telling the future,
OnlineHost: LovelyGeminiCat has entered the room.
TrinityFlareX: Emily merely shook her head at that, she knew better.
OnlineHost: LegbasxChild has entered the room.
Halo of Noire: right? Divination can also be used to find things that are
hidden, such as secret doors on an adventure. Or even to see through
deception and lies. Scrying is a type of divination. Another example is a
"psionic tracer" which allows
OnlineHost: LegbasxChild has left the room.
DragonLightMage: One thing popped up, tarot card spells...
Halo of Noire: you to learn the location of someone or something that is
initiating psionic contact with you. That's just an example so you see that
there is far more to divination than telling the future, or reading a crystal
ball."
DragonLightMage: and dousing
El Diablo Skhorn: "Divination spells to tell the future can be very
misleading too"
TrinityFlareX: "Sshhh."
Halo of Noire: "Enchantment is our next school of magic, and it is simply
explained as spells that affect the mind, giving you influence and even
control over them. I have a spell called 'Desire' that is an enchantment."
She paused. "Telling the
Amuiril Travm: Amuiril quietly shook his head.
Halo of Noire: future is a very difficult thing, and anyone that says 'this
is going to happen to you at such a time and date' is not a true diviner. At
that very moment when someone tells your future, that may be the road they
see. But, every
TrinityFlareX: Totally adding a bullwhip or perhaps a riding crop to Mela's
gift for teaching.
Halo of Noire: action you take, can change that future. It is like a road
that has many paths before you. I put it like this, they say even the
flapping of a butterfly's wings can change the passage of time. So, the
reason that telling the future
DragonLightMage: Already had his gift too, but...mention of the crystal ball
made him think.
Halo of Noire: seems misleading is that things change...from then to now."
Could anyone tell she was a bit passionate about that subject? But she would
get back on her own road again. "Anyway, charms and compulsory spells also
make up the
LovelyGeminiCat: -Maksim would make his entrance. He would look to see Mela
and the others.-
Halo of Noire: school of enchantment. Charms are usually positive, in that
you are making someone change how they view you, such as viewing you as a
good friend. But it can be used to merely make an enemy look more favorably
on you as well. And as
Halo of Noire: always, things can be used in negative ways, to cause someone
to hate or dislike someone. Though the word 'charm' usually has positive
implications. Compulsions though are a bit different. It can truly change how
someone's mind
Halo of Noire: works - remember enchantments change the perception of the
mind. Some make you act a certain way, such as a spell that makes someone
dance, or laugh uncontrollably, or argue with everything anyone says.
"Feeblemind", "Suggestion",
OnlineHost: Clarita Moreau has left the room.
Halo of Noire: "Sleep", "Confusion", "Dominate", and "Truth" spells are all
types of complusions..."
TrinityFlareX: Taps her chin, basically a reaction someone might resist.
Halo of Noire: "I'll touch on the next one, since it effects many of you..
Evocation. Evocation spells manipulate energy, or some source of power - such
as chronoplasm, ectoplasm, shadowstuff -to create something that was not
there. So basically,
Halo of Noire: poof and you've got a blade of fire. Or a bolt of lightning,
or a cone of cold, or a moonglobe of light, or something to extinguish a
fire. Can you see that elementalists are very popular in this school of
magic?" She grinned.
DragonLightMage: He had faught someone with a Chronoplasm...
TrinityFlareX: Nods. It was similar to her balls of light.
Halo of Noire: "Evocation spells can be very dangerous...not only to cast,
but against your opponent. And are some of the more spectacular spells
sometimes."
TrinityFlareX: Wait that sounded sooo.. wrong.
DragonLightMage: Hmm was a rift he took his things out of part of evocation?
Halo of Noire: "There are so many sources of power or energy, there are the
elements, soul, time, shadow..."
TrinityFlareX: That was more a portal... maybe, like teleportation in a
sense.
Halo of Noire: "Alright, I can go more over Evocation next time, and we'll
also talk about Illusion, Necromancy and Transmutation at our next session.
As well as spells that come from several schools at once. Now, I'll open the
floor to questions
Halo of Noire: concerning what we've discussed tonight."
a reckIess heart: Elahna snuck out.
OnlineHost: a reckIess heart has left the room.
OnlineHost: damnable reverie has left the room.
TrinityFlareX: Decides to raise her hand.
Halo of Noire: "Yes Emily?"
El Diablo Skhorn: ::Raises his hand and waits for his turn::
TrinityFlareX: "On divination, can it not also be calling on limited spells
from say a god or goddess you pray or worship to? Like their power embued to
you?"
DragonLightMage: raised hand.
Halo of Noire: "Divine mages would get their power for divination from a
celestial or diabolical source, so yes."
TrinityFlareX: Scribbles that down.
Halo of Noire: "Skhorn?"
El Diablo Skhorn: "There is a difference between spells, and spell-like
abilities correct?"
TrinityFlareX: Head tilt, that seemed an odd question.
El Diablo Skhorn: "The reason I ask, is because I have been reading alot of
books the last couple of days since I joined, and a person could very much so
use spell-like abilities that mimic spells from the 8 schools of magic, but
have absolutely no
El Diablo Skhorn: relation to them.. Or did I misunderstand what I read?"-d-
Halo of Noire: "In some ways yes, in some ways no. Some psions argue that
what they do it not magic, we would go till we were blue in the face. And
some supernatural abilities, such as what come with race, can seem as a spell
but aren't truly a
Amuiril Travm: "Only as much as the difference between magic and
psionics," Amuiril interrupted from the top bleacher above. "The
source may be different, by the result is the same."
Halo of Noire: spell. But, often they mimic each other and the only
difference is HOW it's done. One mage might create a portal through the umbra
or shadows with a spell, another mage such as myself would merely walk
through the web of the umbra
Halo of Noire: because of my race."
LovelyGeminiCat: Kinda like with the breed of vampire I am, is known for
their shadows. It's in my nature, I was sired with it.
Amuiril Travm: "I believe a scholar made a paper on the 'transparency
between psions and mages'. He argued that because the result effect is the
same, the rules
El Diablo Skhorn: "The result may be the same Commander, but one thing
seperates them..A Spell-Like ability can not be dispeled as the Spell it
mimics can"-d-
Amuiril Travm: that govern that effect is also the same. Meaning a psionic
enhancement can be dispelled much like a magical enchantment, because the
results for the result are the same."
Amuiril Travm: "It can, actually."
Amuiril Travm: "However, some spell-like abilities have special
protections, but it is likely unique to that creature alone."
TrinityFlareX: "It's like art... taking one medium such as oil paints and
blending pastels or watercolor into it."
Amuiril Travm: only one may have the ability that cannot be dispelled. Like
magic itself, it differs from object to object."
Amuiril Travm: ( Gah )
El Diablo Skhorn: "Not in the same way. For instance Dispel magic will
reveal someone casting invisibility, however, a creature such as a Nymph for
instance would remain invisible"-d-
Amuiril Travm: "Two creatures may have the ability to invoke darkness
throughout a room, but only one may have the ability that cannot be
dispelled."
Halo of Noire: "Some spell like abilities can be dispelled, some cannot. I
have an ability granted to me through my spider blood that enables me to
unweave a spell, a racial ability OR a supernatural power."
Amuiril Travm: "That is unique to the nymph, not to others that also
have natural invisibility."
Halo of Noire: "Sometimes it isn't a true dispell, it's just that someone is
more powerful in that instant and can unsummon something, uncreate, or undo
it."
DragonLightMage: "Does merging fall under transmutation? I know its jumping
ahead, but for tonights question, can abilities change and ways of conjuring,
ect if an unfamiliar substance has entered you. I have yet to see if I
altered my ability by
DragonLightMage: having been healed in a manner i am not used to yet."
Halo of Noire: "Transmutation changes the properties of something, so yes, a
merging of two sources would be a transmutation. For instance, I could get
the blood of an ice dragon and use it to transmute myself into having ice for
teeth, frost on
Halo of Noire: my skin, claws, and spines."
Halo of Noire: "As far as changing how you cast, yes that can change as
well. If you are a Weaver, and somehow you get involved in a diabolical pact,
and that demon gives you power, you would then be a Divine caster."
Halo of Noire: "Some though, don't change. A psion is a psion."
OnlineHost: Diseased Tyrant has entered the room.
Halo of Noire: "Did anyone else have any questions I didn't get to?"
DragonLightMage: "Ah..." He had to duel a certain someone to see If he had
changed. Thinks, "not at the moment"
Halo of Noire: "If someone has no magical power at all within them, no
psionic ability, no deal with the divine, no power with their soul energy...
they can still cast magic through Weaving, such as using runes, wands, and
other foci." She added.
Halo of Noire: "Questions, questions or forever hold your peace." She asked
again, grinning.
TrinityFlareX: "Heh, I have alot to learn.." She muttered rather cheerfully
as she scribbled a few things in her notebook or either theories or practice
before she asked anything.
DragonLightMage: He was at a mind block.
Warden Hashibara: She just sat back and absorbed everythingthat was said. A
glance over to Amata was given, with a wink.
FooIishBIood: The halfie still didn't understand most of the concepts
presented. She'd spent most of the lecture watching everyone else with a
stoic expression on her face. (d)
Halo of Noire: "If there are any classes you'd like me to teach on a certain
subject, please let me know and I'll see if I can prepare them. I've got a
few lined up and will keep you all informed. Such as having a familiar,
writing spells, the
Angelic Omicidio: She flicked a note to Yuri.
Halo of Noire: ways people cast..the rest of the schools. I would be glad to
have classes on specific sub classes as well, such as druidic magic, or
runes, or the like."
Amuiril Travm: "There is a question."
Halo of Noire: "Yes?"
Amuiril Travm: "What is your theory on sorcerors--those that are born
with the ability to cast magic without prior learning."
Amuiril Travm: "Why do you suppose they possess this power and
knowledge?"
Warden Hashibara: She would have scribbled a note back, but that would be
rude to do in class.
TrinityFlareX: She petted the wooden horse she had in her lap as it sat on
it's rump.
OnlineHost: Diseased Tyrant has left the room.
Vv Nuit vV: A sideglance was cast towards Alex to see if he felt just as
lost as she did. A nudge of her leg was given to his in indication that she
was leaving. She rose in one swift movement and began to descend the
bleachers in an eerily
TrinityFlareX: She thought about Amuiril's question, sounded alot like
trying to udnerstand the reasoning to a poem.
Vv Nuit vV: stealthy manner. And out the door she went.
OnlineHost: Vv Nuit vV has left the room.
FooIishBIood: That tackle-hugging fiend would likely be watched more than
anyone else. Emily just couldn't be trusted, after all. (d)
TrinityFlareX: So totally flashed one of her happy, friendly smiles at
Shi.... wonders if the woman would shiver from it?
FooIishBIood: Smiles were fine. It was the touching that did her in. (d)
TrinityFlareX: Should totally poke.
Amuiril Travm: That sounded wrong.
FooIishBIood: Should totally poke back... with one of her blades. (d)
TrinityFlareX: K i n k y.
Halo of Noire: She reached up rubbing the back of her head, as she thought
about the question. "My theory, which I suppose might not make sense unless
you have been to other worlds, is that in some worlds magic is like gravity,
it just is. It
FooIishBIood: Drow were known for their unique tastes, after all. (d)
Halo of Noire: exists, whether we want it to or not. It is a part of life.
In other worlds, magic exists but it is not the makeup of the world, but it
is merely an extension of the will of the caster. A sorceror, someone born
with this ability to
TrinityFlareX: "It is like poetry, isn't it? Sometimes not even the writer
will understand the reasoning to their own flow of words... it just is. While
others might come up with various reasons or meanings to the poem but never
truly know?"
Halo of Noire: simply 'will' things to happen, is a makeup of what is inside
of them, whether from some ancestor, or in the blood, or in the soul. They
can do certain things, whether they know everything they can do or not, they
were born with a
Halo of Noire: certain range of will...if that makes sense. Like a human,
unless they do something magical or divine, will die of old age. They can't
stop it, they can resist it, they can pretend it doesn't exist...but it
does." She gave a
Halo of Noire: nod to Emily with a smile. "Magic is definitely like poetry."
Amuiril Travm: "..." Amuiril's helmet bent downward, pondering.
Amuiril Travm: "No more questions."
TrinityFlareX: "It is neither good, nor bad, only the user who uses it for a
certain nature."
Halo of Noire: "True. Even necromancy which gets a bad reputation, can be
used to heal. It is not inherently evil, but it can be used for evil. But so
can every school of magic."
Halo of Noire: "Thank you all for attending, you are dismissed. Those with
more questions feel free to remain."
El Diablo Skhorn: "I cant remember any more actually...Sorry" ::he took a
seat::-d-
Halo of Noire: "Someone go ahead and speak out and add the others."
a reckIess heart: "Abjuration, conjuration, evocation, divination,
enchantment, illusion, necromany, transmutation."
a reckIess heart: And that .. was a mouthful.
